  2. Another beauty from the Master. Well done Kevin.
  3. Great portrait of the Giraffe. Is that done with the small hand router ??. I have a small hand router I purchased from Aldi/Lidl some time ago but it is still in it's box unused.
  4. Great job Brenda, very well done.
  5. Great pieces, well done.
  6. I suppose it has happened to us all but still a sad day.
  7. Great work as usual Kevin. I wish I was this good.
  8. I have just bought a book of patterns that can be freely copied for my use. I would like to use the method shown here or the Gimp method. I like the GIMP way as it is straightforward and gives a result but I am very keen to get started with the Inkscape method. I tried yesterday without success and am about to start today's session hoping for better results. If I may can I come back on here and find out where I have gone wrong. Most of yesterdays results did not have any colours on them. I will post again when I have tried again and have noted down the steps I have taken.
  9. Too true with statement Dick
  10. Finished this pattern today, will need to source some new frames as this one is a bit tatty. Should be delivered to my friend tomorrow. Thanks again to grampa for a great pattern.
  11. Very nicely done, I love it.
  12. For sure. I didn't buy this for cutting. My only purpose is engraving. I think you are right Ray. It is an ideal tool for signing patterns. I bought mine because I liked the idea of engraving with a laser on various materials and sizes. My machine is a BangGood product and has a bed 650mm x 500mm (about 2' 2" x 1' 7 5/8"), I was quite happy with this until, in an idle moment. I found it would burn through 3 mm (around 1/8")laser plywood and have been playing with the machine ever since doing various things and loving it. I will shut up now as Travis has created a forum that we can discuss these things. Enjoy your burning.
  13. Thanks Kevin. Glad to see you up and working.
  14. Welcome Andy from up here in Fife. You have some nice pieces there and it looks as if you have been scrolling for quite a while.
  15. Thanks Travis, I like your helpful ways to keep this family together and I do really appreciate all the work you do for us.
  16. Lovely piece. I may try this some day as it does look doable.
  17. Great piece of cutting on a great pattern. Don W
  18. Hi All, I have finished the plates I was cutting for my daughter. I did one of each from WayneMahler and TDpainter and she loves them both. She won't get them until after the Craft Fair we holding at the Kirkcaldy Men's Shed on Saturday where I am hoping to drum up some interest (and raise much needed funds). Don W PS BTW the plates are for my new Great Grand Son.
  19. Great work, well done, and great sales as well. You have excelled with this. Don W
  20. That really is a lot of work there Ray. This is a very big project to take on and I wish you well with it, you look as if you have it covered and the recipients will be truly grateful for them I think. Don W
  21. This is the method I use but I never thought of saving a block with the blade number on it for an easy setup next time. Thanks for that I will do that in future and probably end up with various blocks using various blade widths/thicknesses. I can't remember the last time I tilted the table or what I was doing it for but this is a good idea to keep in mind. Don W
  22. I think 'Common Sense' was a bit more common then. We do live in a different world now.
  23. Glad to hear your back with us.
  24. My prayers for both of you.
  25. I see an excellent piece of work. Thanks for showing it as I will try this sometime when I am sorted out.
