  1. As a 'still learning' scroller I love the stuff you do Frank. The timely reminder that your patterns are best printed on 11" x 17" paper reminds me that here in the UK we (mostly) use A4 paper and a lot of stuff we get is Letter size from the USA. This presents an initial problem as when I see a pattern I like and dash of a print it never fits my paper. I must start with an A3 paper copy, this size is twice the size of A4 (420mm x 297mm) and is an ideal size for cutting on a normal 16" scroll saw. Any patterns I get that are Letter size are plonked in the middle of the page with a lot of room around them and I can use Inkscape (or Gimp) to resize them to A3 or A4, in fact I have beside me a letter I just received from a friend in Canada and the Letter size paper is around 1/4" wider and 5/8" - 3/4" shorter than my A4 paper. Not a big problem when you know what to look for but a real pain when starting scrolling.
  2. And a Happy New Year to you too Ray and all in the Village
  3. I find them a bit distracting but I like them. It started snowing again outside 5 minutes ago and it looks as if it will be getting heavier as the day goes on. No shed for me for a while.
  4. +1 for what Dave says
  5. Travis also posted a guide using Gimp.
  6. Very nice indeed, I love it. Great pattern.
  7. Great work. An excellent piece of work.
  8. So it looks as if it is clamped well and you take it slow and easy, a little at a time, it should be ok. Good luck.
  9. Great show of pieces there John B, I am still working on my bits and bobs.
  10. Great work there Kevin, it looks like a lot of good days and better days. Please take care of yourself and try and take it easy.
  11. Welcome to the village Alan from up here in Fife.
  12. Thanks again for the help. I have looked through all my posts and found the name blocks that I was after but there is no way I can find how to make them. I will start again and see if I can work out the method. I believe it is done in Inkscape so that is a start. Many thanks again.
  13. Thanks for this info. I really had no idea this was available. I will have a look and see what I kind find. Thanks again. Here is a pic of what I need the info. to make
  14. I would like to know how to search for posts I have made on this site, if anyone can explain it simply I will be very gratefull. I have made those compound cut name cube things and have posted the result on this site (somewhere). I can no longer find the patterns/method of making them and need to download the instructions from somewhere, can anyone help ?? please. I can post a pic of the name block that I have if it will help.
  15. Thanks for that insight Kevin (and of course Travis)
  16. Take care and work at your own pace. You need to slow up and stop pushing yourself.
  17. You're the man, try and take it a bit easier please. You can do too much and over exert yourself, we don't want you back in hospital.
  18. Thanks for this Travis (and John Nelson of course). I will give this a try as it should work well with other ideas I have.
  19. Glad to see you back at what you like doing. Keep it up Kevin.
  20. I think your work is great. You are being a bit hard on yourself but we all are I think. Definitely good work there.
  21. Welcome to the village from a rather wet Scotland (nothing unusual there). I like the stuff you do and am keen to see more. Don't be shy your work is first class.
  22. Very well done indeed. I love it.
