I have 2 EX-21’s. I have never bothered to look to see where they came from. But then again, I’ve never had any trouble. Both are made in Taiwan. Both saws are 6 years old, The one in question only gets used in the Spring and Fall, which is very little, compared to the other. when I got home from work today, I played with it and took the canned air to it. It seems to be working correctly. Thank you all for your help! I appreciate it!!!!

T How does one go about cleaning the rheostat? And where is it? Sorry I’m kind of dumb when it comes to mechanical crap. Good question Ray! I have no idea if it’s Chinese or not. I bought it off Craig’s list 6 years ago. It maybe had 5 hours on when I bought it. How can I find out if it’s the Chinese or earlier saw?

While cutting a project at about 75% speed, the saw suddenly topped out on my Excalibur. I turned the dial to its slowest speed and it seemed fine. I slowly increased the speed and all of a sudden it went to the fasted speed. Does anyone have any ideas on why and what to do.

Good to see you’re back Scrappile. (Yeah… everyone calls ya Paul, but I chuckle every time I see your “handle”.)Thanks for posting the Trees of Green. I missed it when Frank posted it. That song is what my daughter picked, for us to dance to at her wedding, for the father/daughter dance. Looks like I’m gonna attempt it. It’s also really cool that you cut the tree and had it come out in one piece! Nice!!!!!

Have ya tried Kevin’s recipe of beeswax and mineral oil? It’s one of my two favorite finishes. Shiny? No. However, this finish gives a “deep” luster. Easy to apply and very forgiving. I apply it with a brush or by hand, use a hair dryer to get it in the nooks and crannies, and then hand rub the piece. I use it on all of the puzzles that I make that are not painted. An added plus, is that it is a good lotion for dry hands. (Big smile). My other favorite finish that you might want to try is Minwax Antique Oil Finish. Again, it’s not shiny, but will give a deep luster. This finish will definitely make the grain “pop”.

I love it! Simple, easy, and cheap. Plus, the bed of the pickup is a hell of a lot bigger than a dust collector. Hmmmm….. I wonder if my wife would let me buy a new “dust collector”.

Kevin, if you read the very fine print in the instruction book, it says to use a metric crescent wrench when assembling table. I would venture to say you used an ASA standard crescent wrench when assembling.
