  1. Ray, there are better ways to clean you shoe sole,,,, when you have stepped in "something".
  2. Call it what anyone likes, I call it beautiful. I'd also call it fretwork or maybe silhouette mural.... How long is it? Could not have been an easy cut to control.
  3. That is a beautiful scene.... Well done, Mr. Kris!
  4. Only on the 1/4" BB. The patterns is sized for 3/16" and that is the thickness of the Maple.
  5. Very well done and I really like the looks of the stains....
  6. I agree all nice, love the hand portrait.... always have.
  7. Well, made it quite a ways this evening. All the way around the outside except for some of the "veining" that I do with the 2/0 size spiral. I just got tired again and you gotta know when to fold.... Know when to..... walk away.... The 4 larger areas not cut on the out side of the circle is because there are nails in them to hold the stacked wood together. They are scrolled last.
  8. I really liked the blue glass you used on your other dragons......
  9. Sorry @JimErn I missed your question in your post. Please see quote above....
  10. Great cuttings. That bird on the faucet, must have had you holding your breath..
  11. Didn't I see a picture on a news site, where the fires were under control, now it is flooding, showed a picture of a shark swimming down a street!!! And I have always wanted to visit Australia..... may have to rethink that.... Scroll down the page a little to see the shark https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10772094/shark-swimming-australia-fire-storms/
  12. Nope, just didn't. Partly because I have never scrolled Maple before so I started along one side, and only drilled holes in about a 1" wide strip along one side. Figured if I run into trouble with the maple, I could just cut off the part that I had drilled and cut, and save the rest for some other project. Got started and just kept going around the outside. I like cutting the Maple. Also, I rarely start in the middle, now that I think of it. Maybe it is my wood miser-ness..
  13. Nice work. Makes me feel ashamed. I don't think I have ever cut something for my wife for valentines. But, she has never complained about it.....
  14. Late start, but some progress today.... Before I started scrolling, I drill all the rest of the holes today. Have to take a lot of care, would be easy drill in the wrong spot, because the cut out parts are not black. Glad to get that done because I was worried I would put holes where they should not be. I am having a great time. Drilling and scrolling I spent about 4.5 hours on it today.
  15. Great job, Jeff!! I agree, it will be treasured.
  16. You pay top price for a saw, you should be able to expect top service........
  17. Great job. I saved that pattern, not sure I will ever get to it but I really like it.
  18. Really did not intend this to be a progress thread, but thought I would post that I did make some progress today. This is eating the blades, but I expected that. I have used 6 blades so far. I want to keep going, but the back hurt and eyes are tired. If I don't quit, I will be sorry.
  19. Nice work, I was temped on the candle holder. Very nice project. The TTT games are really great looking also.
  20. Same skill it takes to do any scrolling. Patients and persistence. Same types of cuts, just more of them in one project.
  21. Very nice, I love the bright colors.
  22. Well Kevin's picture answers the question and I stand corrected. Beautiful piece, @kmmcrafts (Kevin).
  23. I am using a Pegas Reverse Skip #3 and where needed a Pegas #2/0 Spiral The box will be 11" X 11" X 3.25" This is what I hope it looks like when I get done, only mine will be Maple.
  24. I am making a box to gift to my neighbor. Got started on the scrolling this afternoon after cutting and gluing wood for it yesterday. Her box is going to be 3/16" Maple, then I have a 1/4" BB under it so I have more control and it the BB turns out okay, I will have a second box. I plan on lining the box with a dark wood. This is a pattern from Findscrollsaw.com. It is called the "Modena Jewel Box". Pedro, the owner of the site is in Spain. He is a great gentleman to work with. He is recently back after being offline for around 3 months, with an illness and 2 months in hospital... I am so happy he is back that I have purchased 6 of his patterns lately, and have a few more I want,,,, just in case. I plan on doing mostly this type of scrolling this year. Anyway, it is not much accomplished, but I am a very slow scroller and not really in a hurry. When I hurry I make mistakes. This is the lid to the box.
  25. Bob, from the looks of the picture, I thin they are bent. But if the people are cut out of 1/4" or even 1/2" and the wings were 1/8" stock, they would easily bend that far. I have not cut it, so take it for what it is worth. The pattern will tell you or email Sue and she will.
