  1. Hic! I like it!
  2. Awesome piece!!
  3. In my book, the only caddie is now a Hegner. There is no way I would pay the big money for any saw that did not provide caddie service! I feel if they don't provide the service, then why be in the business. Just my opinion. Nothing against the Hawk saw, I always wanted one, but part of the price for me is paying for a service level also.
  4. The only time I have had good results staining BB is when I used General Wipe on Gel stain...
  5. Looks great and ya, quite a challenge... This is where spiral blades shine!
  6. That is a WOW, Don. And congratulations to you for building it. Really turned out nice. Nice of you to donate it so itcan be enjoyed by many. By the way, I just thought about this a couple days ago and was wondering if you would get it finished.. Good on you!!
  7. That is beautiful! Well done Schwibbogen. I love making them.
  8. What an outstanding scrolling job!! I bet you held your breath when cutting the highlight on that wing.... Great picture.
  9. Na,,,, Lace wood!! But then I am no expert either...
  10. That is a beautiful cross and the wood is perfect. Gives it an old rusty look to me. I agree with lace wood or leopard wood.

    Great cutting!
  12. very nice! 34
  13. Both pictures and clock are awesome. I love all the neat things that are made for the Holiday Season.
  14. The burl and cutting are beautiful.... you are correct, even though well cut, Precious is a creepy little feller.
  15. Pattern from Sue Mey. 1/4" BB 1/8" BB backer.
  16. Very well done!
  17. If yours is like my Hegner, it will have "sweet spots" where it runs the smoothest. I have three or four " of them at different speeds. You will learn yours as you get use to the saw. I never run my saws at full speed for long. I don't drive my car at full speed all the time either. I run mine around mid speed most the time. You will get the feel for what is best for you. I also slow down on thin wood. Faster on thicker pieces.
  18. Very nice indeed. Your daughter will love it for sure.
  19. Yes, well done. I added the pattern to my library for "some day".
  20. I will not recommend because it is personal preference, just like blades and all other things the deal with wood working. So many ways to skin a cat as they say.... I do fretwork on both my saws. The bigger pieces I usually move to the Seyco. You are choosing between two fine saws and I think you will be very happy with whichever you select. The newer Hegner may have some things you did not have on your retiring one, front tension, VS speed are two that come to mind. The Pegas has those, plus, top or bottom feed, larger table, tilting head. I don't know how old you are, but I think the Hegner will outlast the Pegas long term and require a less maintenance. But if you are senior,,, do you really need a saw that will last forever. That Pegas should last many years is taken care of. I know I would be very happy with either with the type of scroll I normally do. If I do heavy scrolling, like 3D, I use the Hegner. I. just think it is built more for hard scrolling and my Hegner has a little more clearance between the arm and table. I do not know about availability of parts for the Pegas, I have not heard anything that sounds like it would be a problem... You might look at it this way, if you can afford a Hegner, maybe it would be nice to have 2 Pegas' instead!? I love have 2 saws.
  21. I love them! Great job. I agree on the photography also. Top notch all the way around.
  22. Great job on both. I like the jeep painted, unless the ornament is made of some beautiful exotic wood, I like the color added... brightens thing up. Nice job.
  23. Those are both really neat gifts and especially the tool box. I bet that will go through a few families just like my rocking horse has that my day made me over 70 years ago (I think I was only 14 then). It is still going strong, has been ridden through many families of my children, grand children, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. When the kids outgrow the little steed he comes home and waits for the next cowboy or cowgirl that needs a horse. I couldn't find a use for the neat napkin rings,, in my family a person wants napkins, we pass the roll of paper towel over!!
  24. I agree, no right or wrong. The best way to get your answer is to try it both ways. I have and for me I did not see any real benefit to tilting. I have often thought about, but haven't done it yet, is make my saws adjustable so I can change them easily. That way after a period of scrolling I could change the one I am using and maybe it would help to change positions once in a while. Then again, maybe not. I just find that as I get more advanced in age,,,, I can scroll for shorter period before I have to take a break...
  25. Look like very nice cutting.
