  1. Nice work Steve, as usual for you. Be neat is Ms Kingdon would make a pattern of one of her real detailed stacked pictures, like the "Hare In the Brambles" or "Sea of Storms"
  2. That is very pretty, Innar.
  3. So,,, the king really has clothes! Good video. That is fun scrolling....
  4. I had to give up the kayak. My back just could not take the sitting the way you have to sit in a kayak. But it was worth the build. I enjoyed it a lot. The 12 sail boat hull I still have. Needs one more sanding and then paint. Only thing left to build it the mast, boom and sail. I started it over 10 years ago,,,,, think I will ever finish?
  5. Do you people actually see a video or is this one of those stories like the King and no clothes.....?
  6. Changed Ships International? to Yes
  7. I ordered some 1/4" and 1/8" Cherry from them recently, my first order from them. They cut it to the lengths I specified and the order was shipped quickly. I received some of the best looking Cherry ever. Great people to deal with.
  8. "I Took The Plunge". Give me a break! I'm a little slow in the up tick, I just caught this morning.
  9. I have purchased from him and had good service. He is one of my saved sellers. There are a couple others on Ebay I have purchased from and always received decent service and wood. I always check the sellers rating. If they have 99% or better positive out of several thousand sells, I figure they are pretty good. I also read the negative review and normally the negative are not related to what I am purchasing and a lot of them are things that happen, when using mail services.
  10. Nice little shop. When my wife and I move, I want a little shop away from the house. I don't need big, no more big project for me. It is surprising what a person can do in a small shop. Mine is what was to be a half of a small 2 car garage. Maybe 17' x 12". I've build a 15" kayak, and a 12" hull for a sail boat in it. You just have to stay pretty skinny.
  11. Very nicely done!
  12. You have probably seen this but in case you have not I will post it. I do not know that it has anything to do with you problem. If you have only had you clamps two months, maybe you should contact Pegas. Someone else on the forum had a problem with them and I think Pegas took care of it.
  13. I just received an email from Mike Williams stating he is closing his website where he sells patterns. He will be selling on Etsy now. You will also get the patterns quickly via email. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MikeWilliamsDesigns He has great patterns, but they are not for the faint of heart....
  14. @stoney, did the modifications to his Hegner so the arm would lift heigher. You can read his post on it here: I took the loc-line nozzle off the bottom suction on my and just used a straight piece of 1" pvc. It reduced the noise a Db or two. Not much. I think the bigger the opening at the end the less noise, but not sure how you would direct the suction as well to where you want it. I try to remember to put on ear protection.... that helps. But the noise is the biggest draw back of this type of dust collection. I don't really mind wearing ear protection. It kinda isolates me and reduces other distractions.....
  15. Very well done and very cute. I saved that pattern, don't know if I will ever use it but I liked it.
  16. I think this forum fills the void. Tons of info, education resources, world wide participation, lists clubs and organizations, product reviews, vendor listings, wonderful patterns, the list goes on. And all for free unless one chooses to donate in some fashion. Really, what more could one offer?
  17. Welcome back. Hope all went well with the surgery and follow on medical procedures.
  18. Okay now they have gone too far. I went back to the site, said it was updated April 16th, 2019 and the title is: "Best Scroll Saw Reviews — 2019’s Absolute BEST Scroll Saws" They review the same saws???? Give me a break!!! Could not help myself I had to contact them and suggested they change their title to something like "BEST Entry Level Scroll Saws" or something. Not sure DeWalt or the Delta are necessarily entry level.
  19. That was my initial thoughts also, first glance looks like a surgical station all the tubing and gadgets. I'm another one anxious to see you post on the vacuum set up. I keep tweaking mine and always looking for ideas. I notice you have something in the nozzle of the top suction. I can't make out what it is but I assume it is to keep little cut off pieces from being sucked away. Here is what I found work like it was built for that purpose. Only problem is finding a good source for them. I found this as part of the nozzle that screws on to the end of a faucet in on my utility sink when I replaced that faucet. It is the perfect size to clip right into a 3/4" nozzle. I hope to find some more of them one of these days.
  20. I tried many of different sizes. From #0/2 to #5 Flying Dutchman and Pegas. The one that worked best was a FD-PSR #1 on my Hegner. Not sure why, but it was the one that felt the most comfortable to me. And I went through quite a few blades... will probably not cut quarter sawed Red Oak again on the scroll saws. The wood from H...L
  21. Ahhh, Gees, Jeff! Where do you keep coming up with these neat patterns?? That is a cute one and well cut. Great job!
  22. Okay, wood came today... Ray, no need to watch your step. I am very happy so far. Great looking wood. One piece of 1/8" had a crack, but nothing I can not work around and it is wood. May have cracked in transport. Some very nice Cherry and a beautiful piece of Beech. I purchase the Beech piece because I have never had any before. This piece really looks like Red Oak. I an anxious to cut it. I think it will handle a couple of Fiona Kingdon's patterns. The Cherry is scheduled for the tower clock that @heppnerguy and @rdatelle, did recently. I may get to order more because I found it really difficult to decide how much I needed. I have the wood stacked and will let it rest a week or so. Hope it doesn't warp like a lot of wood I have purchased. I can say, buying from Cherokee was a pleasant experience and everything went like clockwork. Right now, I see no reason why they will not be my go too place from now on. I didn't compare costs with Ocooch Hardwoods but I'm pretty sure they are close to the same. I think shipping may have been a little less for me, but Cherokee and I are on the west coast. Any way. Little disappointed I don't get to travel to Rays with a brown poop bag,,,, (I was even saving up , if you can picture that), but I'm very happy with what I received and how I was treated (I mean they called me to discuss my order)...... Please give them a look when you need to order some wood next time. Ray, I did not get the discount you talked about....... They must REALLY like you!
  23. I'd rather re-cut than sand,,,, any day!
  24. WOW! You are good at these. That is beautiful.
