  1. Really like how you did the plaque. Very pretty, and really shows well. Great job, Dick.
  2. I have had trouble with the small Pegas 2/0 flat blades. These just seem too flexible and tend to wonder on me. Especially in harder wood. I have tried them... but have not spent time trying different tensions and speeds.
  3. WOW! That really is a well done picture. Great scrolling.
  4. Love them all, I also have never heard of those pattern makers. But no matter, I don't really need more patterns..... Ha, I wrote this yesterday... guess I didn't click on Submit.....
  5. First thing off my saw.
  6. Nothing, would I pay. I'm a "pinger" and if I had a gadget and used it I'd ping anyway,,, that's just my way.
  7. Great job!
  8. Very beautiful!
  9. I don't get how you do that!! I know the process, but I don't get how you do it with such intricate detain. That I fantastic! Beautiful!
  10. I made this picture in honor of April the giraffe at the Animal Adventure Park in New York, who just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy about a week ago. I watched the birth on live cam. I have done this pattern by @alexfox, before and it is a real treat to cut. There are not difficult or fragile areas, although it may look like their would be. I really recommend this pattern to anyone wanting to try their first picture cut. Alex has a sea turtle one also that is very impressive, a little more difficult, but a pleasure to cut. I did it a little different than any I have done before. I stained the backer behind the giraffe with a stain called Nutmeg, painted the eye area black. You can't see it without really looking closely, but I painted the backer behind the leaves a light green. The green doesn't show up as much as I hoped, but I had to try it. The frame is cherry with Watco Tung Oil finish. The picture is cut in 1/2" Basswood. I guess this is going to another April fan, that is a co-worker of my Daughter.
  11. Great plaques, Marg. I can see why you are getting the orders. Very nice work.
  12. You certainly did an outstanding job with very fragile font. Great cutting.
  13. Wonderful piece of art, Ralph. Dick is a great coach for sure. He always has so much enthusiasm. You did a beautiful job on it. I also have that pattern, have had it about 4 years or more. Maybe this year..... Let's see, we now have "Dick's font" and "Dick's clock". Hope he doesn't get the big head and not speaking to little old me anymore.
  14. I go to install the font and it says a serious error has been found do not use this font file. Could that be because I have a Mac? I've never tried to install a font before, certainly do not know what I am doing.
  15. @JimErn, I miss read. Thanks.
  16. I like those clamps, but wow, I'd have to do a lot of glue ups to justify the cost. You would have buy at least two sets. Then again, maybe if I had them I would to more glue ups... Maybe I can place some hints to my kids. They are always wanting to know what I want at Christmas. I always give the good answer, "just to spend time with my kids". Next your I will say "stay home but send me a set of those clamps"!!
  17. That is pretty darn cool. Nice job. Being you were a Medic in Vietnam, you are a very special person. Some of the bravest, dedicated people I met in the service were the medics. I thank you for your service.
  18. A picture of your Hawks you posted on another thread showed 3 Hawk in a row so you should be able to cut at least three at a time!
  19. Very nicely done.
  20. All are very well done!
  21. I had Craftsman many yeas ago the you had to insert a "U" shaped tool into the clamp and that held it in place while you used an allen wrench to loosen and tighten the clamp. I had to do it while on my knees looking up under the saw. I bet the engineer that designed it is still laughing! I finally mounted the saw on a box I made that had a hinged top. Then I could just put the saw over on it's side while I clamped the bottom of the blade in. That made it easier, but of coarse the hinged platform did not help reduce vibration any.
  22. I think the question has been asked here on the forum a couple times and if I remember correctly, the vast majority prefer the "deadman" type (momentary). I know I do, if I drop over dead, I don't want my saw to sit there running for the two weeks or more before my wife notices I am gone and come looking for me!
  23. Very cute, perfect colors for Easter Bunnies.
  24. The couch is heaven,,, it is the dirty old filthy, flea infested dog house I have to spend a lot of time in that I hate!!!
  25. Actually the eyes are still in trouble, but I am trying to ignore them and just keep at it.
