  1. Those crosses are very beautiful!!
  2. Great cutting. She will love that.
  3. Very well done, all of them...
  4. Fond memories. Nice job... When I was a kid, my uncle had an Indian motorcycle. He also had a side car for it and use to take me for rides. He had cherry bombs for me to throw at the dogs that would chase us... ahhh the good old days. One time he had his Indian parked at our house while he was gone..... somehow, not me, no way, never, honest,,,,,,, it got tipped over... It took every kid in the neighborhood,,,, "Our Gang" (remember those short movies), to get that motorcycle back up... My mom even came out to help!
  5. Very nice!
  6. Oh, I am stoked!!! Please, oh please, keep me updated. Can you imagine driving one of those or even just riding in one!?? I did a model of one, from a plan from Wood Mag. I heavily modified it and really enjoyed the build. Picture posted in Album on here.
  7. Very beautiful work. Looks like we have another very talented team in the village.
  8. The way it should be!! Congratulations and hope it stays that way!
  9. Looks real good. Very cute. Here the real thing is going to happen any moment. Live cam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E5odkrfvFA
  10. @octoolguy not tired of seeing them at all, but they do make my blood pressure rise,,,,, another thing I want to build that I haven't gotten too yet... Yours set the standard.
  11. I have heard good things about Heritage Wood. I have not bought from them but have heard good.
  12. Great projects and great memories being made. Nothing better.
  13. Dick seem to be at a loss for words. But, I know were you can get it, because looking through my stash of patterns yesterday, I came across it. Didn't remember I had it... https://www.scrollsaw.com/collections/clocks-for-the-scroll-saw-sure-to-become-a-family-heirloom/products/bell-clock-tower-advanced-scroll-saw-pattern
  14. That would have been my next guess....
  15. Do you have the tools to cut up 5' x 5' sheets? I can get it by the sheet at local lumberyards, not the big box stores like Lowes and HD. I always have them cut it in half so it is easier for me to transport and handle on my table saw when I get home.
  16. Great job on that beauty. I was a huge sports car fan. I wish they would come back.
  17. There you go, see how valuable your opinion is? You make a good point without even using it. I had not thought about getting it down in to fretwork. Coarse I have never yet stained any fretwork. I just us rattle can finish. But, good point and I can see that could be a problem.
  18. Heck, Dave, I don't know I was hoping you would try it and let me know! But it say "Gel" on the can, not "Jell" and I am jut pointing this out so you won't think I am stupid,,,,, Just having fun here Dave. For years I did nothing buy Minwax and for some reason it did not set well with me. I know very little about staining. I mean very little. I just seemed to me like Minwax was so thin, liquid-ie, runny. I tried Zar stain when I did my kayak, and liked it better, somewhat thicker, but but I was putting it on cloth like material not wood. I used it once on wood and it kind of went on like paint an hid the grain. Than a little while ago I purchased some gel stain, to do the backer of the first religious verse piece I did and I for some reason loved it. Went on easily, no blotchy spots (and this was on Baltic Birch) and I just liked it. I have no great amount of experience with it so I was thinking maybe you have tried it and wondering what your thoughts were. I will say no more on it in this thread because I do not want to start something that will take attention away from the great piece you made here. Just if you try it sometime, I would like your opinion. I value your opinion. You can see by my guess on the wood, I know as much about wood as I do stain!
  19. As usual that is a beautiful plaque. The wood I'm guessing pine. Nice staining no matter the wood type. Have you tried gel stain? I've tried it on a couple things lately and I really like it. Expensive per can, but a little goes a long ways.
  20. Really very well done. Both of them. I like the light on dark as you did it.
  21. My hats off to you. That is some precision scrolling to say the least. All those straight lines, thin wood, no way you can make it much harder. Thanks for posting.
  22. Ha! Jokes on me!! This is what happens when you have too many patterns. I purchased the patterns for that chest set off of esty last month. I read this thread again, go look and I have the Spring 2019 issue of SWWC! There is the same patterns I just paid for..... again! Oh well my paid for plans included plans/pattern the the chess board also,, so I go something out of them
  23. @Bill WIlson strange how it works, I use 3/0 spirals more than any other spiral and rarely break one. Even when they get bent I still keep on scrolling with them.. My second favorite spiral is the Pegas 2/0 which is a little bigger. I like it because it cuts more aggressively than the 3/0 but I break them often.. the slightest bend and they snap on me. I must has gone through 20 twenty of the 2/0 cutting the Jaguar I just completed. It is like they are brittle.
  24. Great job. Looks like she is a very serious cross stitch-er!
