  1. I think scrollers cafe (scrollerscafe.com) is a very nice group. LumberJock, not just scroll saw but good for all wood working. These are just other forums...
  2. I agree, I have looked at it off and on over the years and it seem like it has always struggled. I don't bother looking anymore, because I figure how could it be any better than right here in The Village?
  3. Always look forward to your posts of new projects. You never disappoint. Great job,,, again.
  4. Same here on both my Seyco and Hegner.... I never worried about it... Keep scrolling.
  5. @Rob, I do love that sign! Almost tempted to scroll it!
  6. @John B, I guess because I live in a dusty part of our country, my first thought was the same as you wife's! I bet he did that all with a hand saw also,,,, . Pretty amazing. When did he have time to write poems? May scrolling made him a poet, I do a lot of thinking while I scroll, coarse none of my thinking produces anything....
  7. Is this an April Fools joke??? Never heard of that before. I mean even if it works, who get up one day and says, "I have to get rust off this equipment, I think I will see if molasses will remove it"? I know of using vinegar, it is great for many things.
  8. My mom would have love the "Thou shall not try me" "mom 24:7!! She raised 3 boys, all but one was ornery.... love the signs,,,, great cutting.
  9. Beautiful crosses!
  10. Dang, some really neat stuff here. I don't have much in the line of critters. I have made my grandson a couple wood trucks, not critters. I did make him this dragon, he likes dragons. It is called the Time Keeper or something and was suppose to hold a clock, but for some reason I pictured him holding a crystal ball.
  11. I have cigar boxes under both of my saws. I have dust collecting so there is very little dust, but I do throw the small cutout scrap pieces it them as I go just to help keep them off the floor. Got to do something with all the cigar boxes I collected when I was in the cigar box guitar making phase of my life.
  12. would it be easier to ,, no never mind, I talked myself out of it wasn't,, a good idea;
  13. I think the best reason for the "tabs" in a "hole" method is shipping and storage. For example, I have made 2 different schwibbogens. One glued together one held together with tabs. The tabbed one I can take apart and store easily in a thin box. The glued on, I haven't figured out yet how the heck I will store it!
  14. Welcome, glad to have you join us. Looks like you know your way around the shop, look forward to seeing more of your work.
  15. Charles moved on to other things. At least for now. You can get some of his patterns from Bear Woods https://www.bearwood.com/scroll-saw-patterns-free-for-sale.html
  16. Welcome to the Village, Ed. Look forward to getting to know you.
  17. Sorry to read about her illness. She will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have been to their site many time, have never purchased from them because I had to call and I always end up ordering on the internet. Sad, I complain no one talks to anyone anymore,,, and then I am just as bad, would rather use my fingers than my mouth...
  18. Thanks, Ralph. that is a good place for it, but I could not do that,,,, I would have to get my wife to let me move some of her quilting "stuff"!! Can't remember the last time I ate at the dinning room table,,,,,, Oh well, I don't mind. Keeps her out of my work shop!
  19. What do you call those old engines in Australia? I think they are referred to as "Hit and Miss" engines in my part of the world. I love to watch and listen to them. Pretty neat.
  20. Certainly did a great job. Your daughter will cherish it.
  21. Welcome to the village, you will enjoy it here, I am sure. If you do a search on Delta, I am sure you will get several hits. I was just discussed a couple weeks ago and has been several other time in the past.
  22. I am such an odd ball. The only thing I have ever read that was a little negative about the Ridgid, is you can over tighten the screw the holds the spindles on and that can be a problem, everyone seems to love the thing. I purchased one based on all the good I read about it. Well I'm not a fan, wished I had just got a oscillating drums sander that took up a little less space. I find the belt sander part pretty much useless for me. I do use it once in a while if I am working with small blocks of wood. But I just don't do that often. Any thing beyond a few inches I like a bigger belt sander and the bigger belt sander will to the small stuff just as easy. If I ever get back to making toys and models, I may use it more.
  23. I keep coming back and look at you and Dick's clocks. I have always wanted to make a detail fret clock, but a lot of them have a big problem,,, they are big! I haven't been able to figure out what I would do with one after I got it completed. This one looks manageable. Can you give me the measurements of it completed?
  24. Yep, pictures,,,,,, if they don't appear, it is a late April Fools .....
