    Ahhh a Pegas scroll saw? What kind of trouble are you having? Is the blade slipping? Maybe your clamps have spread out and need replacing.

    My favorite spirals are the FD NS 3/0 and the Pegas 2/0. That are about the only two I ever use. I find, although slower cutting as you say, I can cut more detail with the FDNS 3/0 and it does not break easily. You would be surprised how bent up I can get one yet once under tension, it keep on going. The Pegas is much more aggressive, but cut nicely. I find it more brittle than the FD, the slightest bend in it and I know it will break soon.

    Oh, I might as well... made the Five Dragon box to put old nuts and bolts in, the Dutch box is where I throw my used and broken scroll saw blades. Then I made two Hamsa boxes to put ear wax in which is what I use make it easier to get screws screwed in.

    Here Dick, @heppnerguy, I took a guess and I was right http://www.finescrollsaw.com/chalet-box.htm @Retired Scroller, you should send some pictures of you Chalet to Pedro for him to post on his site. There are very few of his projects represented that were done by U.S. people.

    Nice clean cutting. I am also curious as to what you will do with the mouse heads. Paint I assume.

    @kmmcrafts the Hegner I have is mounted on a Hegner stand and it was highly recommended by Advance Machinery that that stand be used. It is a solid stand, welder together, so no settling possible. I have it because paying that much for a Hegner, I was not going to argue with them or take any chances, but, I am not sure it really needs to be on a Hegner stand. I see pictures of them mounted on home built stands and the ones that I have see so mounted, the owners do work far superior to me. Fiona Kingdon for instance. Her's looks like it is mounted at a pretty radical angle on a wedge shaped stand that sits on a bench.... Who am I to argue with her. I just watch in awe!

    I knew why you ask Hawk owners. Please always take my post as being light hearted rubs. I scroll for fun, I come here for fun and take nothing too serious. I know there are those that say you have to stick with the saws stand. They may be correct. I never had my DeWalt on the stand that came with it nor my Excalibur so I cannot compare. The cabinet stand I have is not supporting it's third saw. I do have a 60+lb of sand in the bottom of the cabinet. Does not vibrate enough to bother me.

    Do you get nose bleeds when you sit too high? I'm a shorty my feet don't touch the ground on either of my saws. I have a box my foot peddle is taped to with double sided tape on the Hegner. My Seyco is on a homemade cabinet type stand with foot rests and foot peddle screwed on it. I like my cabinet stand best because I have a cabinet and drawer for storage under the saw. I say build a stand then, it can be custom made to suite your needs. Sorry I know I was not invited to respond, it was just for Hawk owners, but I think the theory is the same no matter the saw.

    The clock is awesome. I love the use of what looks like a piece of tape measure for the pendulum. Genius. I have that clock about 1/2 cut out. Put it aside for a while to work other things. I have been trying to change the pattern so the scroller looks like an old bearded man,,,, like me. That Chalet Box is really beautiful. Masterpiece.

    Okay, @John B please explain, I do not think there is a backer. I have looked and looked, but I may be all wet. I think the white is the wall behind the trophy and the rest of the dark is shadow.. But that is a lot of shadow and well maybe not. Help me here, what am I seeing?? By the way that is an awesome cutting.

    Awesome job on that one. Ha, took up your weekend... You sir scroll a lot faster than I! I have done it, I know it took me well beyond a weekend! It has been one of the most popular scenes I have done. Hangs on my wall. I get lots of comments on it, as you will.

    I agree Brad. When I start cutting a project, I may have to try several different blades to get the one I am most comfortable with for that day, that wood, that saw, my mood and how my body is working at that time. Then I may have to change blades during a cut to do something specific in a certain area. Just my way of scrolling.

    Oh, my I read your Subject line and all my eyes registered was 'Broke My New Pegas Saw Today"!! Made my little heart skip a few beats!! Great looking bunch of puzzles and my favorite of all is the lizard at the bottom.
