  3. Beautiful plaque and such an appropriate time, today is the Navy's birthday. I feel part of the Navy after following and enjoying my son's 22 year career.

  5. Welcome to the Village. Glad you are joining. Maybe you can talk you son into moving here also.
  6. Where I live some of the lumber yards carry it, you might call around and ask. There is also an un-finished furniture store that carries it.
  7. I think most refer to it as "live edge". It just always puzzled me.
  8. Wonderful job, Marg.
  9. That is some very nice work!
  10. I gotta ask, why do you refer to it as "live edge"? It is dead! I call it natural edge or bark edge. When I use a piece I will but CA glue along the bark on the back edge and CA any loose pieces on. When you put finish on after cutting a picture, the CA will not show.
  11. Nice work and a very pretty Bernese Mountain dog (?).
  12. Very well done!
  13. Beautiful piece!

    Klockit

I have used then a few times over the year and never had any problems with their product or their service. I do not use them a lot, I do not do a lot of clock work, but I go to them because I can remember the name and I got their catalog for years. Back in the late '70's I order an Emperor grandfather clock kit, from them... that was my first real clock project. Took me a while to complete it. I was building our house at that time, working full time and had a family of two little children, so I was a busy man at the time. The clock is still sitting in our living room ticking away. Very accurate also.
  16. No you are not! I'm the same, music for a little while is okay, but it wears me out to have it going very long. And I am not an "old biddy".... I may be a grouchy old man..... but I am what I am. No apologies.... I don't have the radio going when I am traveling either,,,, my wife's snoring is enough extra noise!!
  17. You are so correct Kevin, when I shop for a specific item on E-bay, I always sort buy "Lowest price + shipping." Often I can get it cheaper, by paying a little shipping and a lower item price.
  18. I love that picture! Great cutting.
  19. I do not understand why anyone would want to do it!!! Truthfully, I don't even understand why I love to do it....
  20. You might check out this book. Bet you could get it cheaper off Ebay or somewhere https://foxchapelpublishing.com/animated-animal-toys-in-wood.html
  21. You can really be proud of this. Great job.
  22. @Clint Hay If you are still visiting here you might find some information on you say here. https://books.google.com/books?id=YL4uLA5lAogC&pg=PA46&hl=en#v=onepage&q&f=false
  23. Jerry, that certainly is beautiful. Very well cut and finished.
  24. Well you wouldn't hate me if I were left handed would you? I'm not, by the way... Good input John.
  25. I think it matters when doing a angle cut (blade at an angle other than 90 deg). I have most always had the fence on the right the miter gauge I use on the left.
