  1. That is a great one!
  2. @rdatelle I have downloaded Adobe Reader and that is what some how reads all my Adobe Files and I can print the files from it also. Not sure how it all works, but it works well, and when I print any PDF file it gives me the print screen you are wanting. https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/pdf-reader.html
  3. @tgiro is correct looks like Woodcraft has a few GI Excaliburs left. $799 + $35 shipping. Doesn't appear to me to include a stand. I checked Woodcrafts in Portland area, not available. They are not that close to you anyway.
  4. No, but here looks to be a good deal on a Hawk in my area.. You buy it, I could pick it up and deliver it to you next time I go to Portland.... In the mean time, I could try it out and keep it warm for you...... https://kpr.craigslist.org/tls/d/rbi-hawk-20-scroll-saw/6642687280.html
  5. Ditto, Dick. And be sure and do not use the hardwood I did..... coarse I do not remember what it was... so as usual, I'm a big help!!
  6. Like Dave, I anxious for your reports. I have a great Hegner, and I still keep looking at Hawks for sale. Not sure why, I have never had a chance to use one or even look one over close up.
  7. Nice pieces. I don't understand why anyone would play golf when they could be scrolling???!!
  8. Oh, do I ever love that picture. Super great job Jeff.
  9. Looks mighty fine to me. And I like the wood, it has character.
  10. Nice work, Dick. I like the two colors one, but it makes my head spin a little. Looks like for a second the dark is dominate then something switches and the light color take over. But I do like them with more than one color. I did one of Alex's bowls with a hard wood and it worked fine and I think looked nice. I tried another one that had more "loop de loops" in it, with the same type wood and it broke apart. Because the gain running all in one direction it was just two fragile in narrow places that ran with the grain. Hence the advantage of the BB plywood. I don't know if any of this makes sense, but I know what I am trying to say....
  11. You did a great job. Both on pattern and cutting.
  12. They look terrific! You did a great job. Kinda fun to make, aren't they?
  13. Great cutting and great choice of wood and finishing. He is one of the good ones still left.
  14. Certainly beautiful. Great work.
  15. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Very beautiful...
  17. You did a beautiful job with it. I cut this pattern also, not too long ago. I really like it. I have been wanting to try to stain or paint some color into it, but haven't gotten up the nerve to try yet.
  18. I totally agree. That is a very nice pattern and very well cut.
  19. I'd suggest checking local lumber yards, cabinet shops. I can buy it locally from a unfinished furniture store, several lumber yards. Where I live it is always in 5' x 5' sheets.
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you join us. As to pin/pinless blades. You can do everything with pinless blades, and have a much larger variety of blades to choose from. Pin end blades have a smaller selection and like stated you can not do intricate fret work, simply because you will need a much larger hole to stick the pin end blade through. If you like your saw and plan on keeping it I think it would be worth it to change the clamps.
  21. Is graphite powder also okay for bushing and bearings?? I thought that was the responsibility of oils and greases.... I always use graphite powder for like locks. My Hegner says oil on the bushings.....
  22. Heck, I could even cut the butterfly, but that marquetry,,,, I am in awe!!!
  23. Simple(?) but so beautiful... I think I have that book, I just have a very difficult time getting through "how to" books. I am more of "show me" person and no one in my area does it... Oh well, I also have a on going desire to do wood carving,,, the characters that people carve.. and absolutely no talent for it.
  24. I wish you would show some of your marquetry. Something I would like learn,,, I think.
  25. I keep my table saw covered. It is one of the cats favorite sleeping places and I do not like rusty cat prints on my table saw.
