  1. I can see that walking already. Looking good.
  2. Please let me know what you think of the SandFlee. I have looked at them for a long time, but I never seem to be able to get the throw-away cash to get one. I think Rolf has one also. They are spendy if you buy a new one but look like they would be very useful. Eliminate a lot of hand sanding.
  3. WOW! That is super nice! He will really cherish that..
  4. That is really nice RJ. My wife belongs to a group of quilters and each year they have a little Christmas party and exchange gifts. The gifts are getting to be more and more items made by the husbands that are woodworkers. This past one my wife had me make sewing stilettos. This plaque would be a great gift for next year, I would think. I will have to show this to her.
  5. Yes, sir, Mahogany is one of my favorite woods to work with. Easy to cut, soft enough to sand easily, and is beautiful when finished. My Nephew brought me a headboard off a bed last year, wanted to know if I could use the wood. It was made of Mahogany!
  6. Another nice piece of work. Looking forward to see what you make this week end.
  7. That is a beautiful clock, John. Well cut. What kind of wood is that? Member "Gator" on here did the chest set from that site. It is awesome also.
  8. Well this evening I finished cutting all the parts out for my first robot. The little gears took some time and my fingers are really sore from holding onto them as I cut. They are just a little bigger than a quarter. Fun, fun, fun. Now I have to sand everything and start trying to find the hardware I need. My motors arrived in the mail today, I have not gone to pick them up yet.
  9. Great job.
  10. Okay I Quite!!!! I will never be up to your craftsmanship standard.. That is beautiful.... I won a Halloween pen contest once... I think there were 6 other entrys......
  11. Think about it, a lot of "refurbished" tools are returned to the store tools, they are checked, tested completely before being put up for sale as "refurbished", more than you can say for a new tool right out of the box... The ones returned because they were broke or didn't work properly are repaired and checked, tested completely before resale as "refurbished". Anytime I need a tool anymore I look for "refurbished" first. I believe the 180 day warranty Is correct, at least on the ones I purchased, but that has never been a factor to me. Looks at the new tools you buy that claim to has a warranty of "x" years, then try to get decent service on that warranty. The only warranty I put stock in is how long I have that I can return it to the store for my money back or a replacement. That is usually 30 days. Just my opinion.
  12. You must have enough points built up to last a loooong time! That is a beautiful piece.
  13. Now I know those had to give you a bundle of pints! Great work, great planning.
  14. Maybe a little over priced, but: https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/tls/6017708976.html https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/tls/6022756929.html
  15. I have several "refurbished" tools and the DeWalt scroll saw I had was refurbished. I have never had a problem with any refurbished tool I have purchased to date. That being said I have never had a refurbished Delta tool. Mine were DeWalt and Makita.
  16. I think his shirt is hiding how low is pants are, but when I looked at the pattern for the third time, I noticed one little change I would make (well I wouldn't make it I do not know how to make patterns) but I would turn is hat around. The wear them backward most often now.....
  17. Frank, you have certainly found you niche in scrolling and you have great imagination/talent for it. That is a beauty.
  18. Those are great. Even if you were not selling them they would make great little gifts. Stocking stuffers for Christmas, etc.
  19. Good job. Keep on cutt'n.
  20. Nice job.
  21. Oh ya, that is an awesome pattern and cutting! Way to go.
  22. Frustrating for sure, but new motor, you save quite a bit of money. I do not understand the poor customer service given these days.
  23. What made you sell you house? I will really try to make it over hopefully this next month, but you have got to tell me when is convenient for you guys. I know if you sold your house and are going to move you will be busy. Are you staying in Heppner? You ought to move to the Tri-Cities. We could visit more. Maybe start a local scrolling club of two.
  24. I think with Hegner it is a matter of building a work horse that has been proven over years. And, not to stereo type, but I guess I will, some of the stubborn German breeding.... I now what you are saying, and it took me a while to be satisfied with the way of doing it. It is now second nature to me and I would give up my Ex (Excalibur, not ex-wife, fortunately I don't have one of those, least not yet) before I would part with my Hegner. It is the confidence I have that my daughter will be scrolling on it long after I am gone. Not so with the Ex, which is a great saw, but it will not out last the Hegner. Also I am and always have been a bottom feeder. See absolutely no reason to change and wouldn't if I did. I see you have a Hegner, now be honest, would you trade it for any other saw on the market,,,,? May be sorry I asked that..
  25. Great job here. Very well cut. Also reminds me last year was another year I bought a fishing license and never got around to going. Oh, well, for us old goats it is only $7.50.
