  1. Glad you did, Welcome!
  2. bglon is correct on the table top size, and it really bothered me when I first got the saw, but after I got use to it I don't even notice it any more. There is an alternative to increase the table size that does not require a machine made metal top. I have a piece of 1/8" masonite on top of my existing table. I didn't do it for size but more as a zero clearance hole for the blade to go through and for more support when sawing delicate area on a picture. It really works well and I am thinking I could make a bigger one it I wanted to increase the table top size. Course the hardest part of this is finding a piece of masonite.
  3. That is a great looking setup for the drill press. Dick this is your crepe cleaner. You can get them at most woodworking stores, or online:
  4. Okay, Dick no bragging about this in front of my wife! You know it would cause me trouble. Great job.
  5. Nothing like riding in style! Very nice.
  6. Nice cutting!
  7. Great saw, congratulations. I purchased a Magnifying lamp from Harbor Freight for around $40 and it works well. I have since purchased a little more expensive one and it works even better. The reason I stepped up a notch on the light is I prefer LED lights over Fluorescent and the glass lens has less distortion and will not scratch as easily as the plastic one on the HF one. That being said the HF one works fine, I now use it as an extra light to even better light my work. As for the arm lift I had a JimDandy on mine, worked just fine and I am sure the others on the market do also. A block of wood works fine also, except I kept knocking it off the table top. I can not top feed so the lift was required for me.
  8. Very nice job on both pattern and scrolling. Beautiful picture, nothing need improvement expect adding the finish. I wish I had the talent for the patterns you and others have here.
  9. Very nice looking puzzle. I do not know anything about this puzzle cutting. Is there a pattern for the puzzle or do you cut the pieces free hand? Looks very intriguing.
  10. Those will certainly be enjoyed for sure. Nice cutting.
  11. You did an outstanding job on that piece. Very pretty. I like the backer you put on it. Makes it like rich. Nice work.
  12. Aside from which saw to buy first, a discussion that can go on for ever, the advice I received when I first started scrolling that actually helped me the most was, relax and breathe normally. Once I did those two things I really started enjoying myself.
  13. That is a great picture. You did a wonderful job on it. I love the way you did the branches, really adds to the picture.
  14. Very nice looking!
  15. The thing I like about Photobucket is the ability to copy your image address, put it here and the image will show up here in the post. Can you do that with other sites?

Great job. Looks real nice. Also looks like it would be fun to build.
  17. Nice work. Where does one find "recycled" silver. Never heard of that.
  18. Great scrolling job!
  19. Dick, I have had that problem with the overlap on a pattern. Fact I had it with the latest loon picture I just completed. I didn't forget to glue, but it didn't stick well and started coming up. I put a strip of clear packing tape over the seam to hold it. I do not really like to use the clear tape but it helped in this case. I think I need to find some new glue. What I have been using is a bottle that I do not know how old it is but I found it in some junk when cleaning out the basement. It could be 20 or more years old....
  20. Yes I tried that yesterday along with the adjust the motor, move the motor back and forth as mention on this forum. Checked everything for loose bolts, etc. It have smoothed out a little but still vibrates more then I think it should (although I could stand up a nickle and it would stay up). There is a "growl" at high speed. I asked Seyco about this some time ago and was told it was a rubber baffle inside the saw. It served no purpose and I could remove it by reaching in through the back of the upper arm with pliers and pull it out. It gets hard over time, and makes noise. I have never found that baffle. Wish I could. I do not locate it in the parts diagrams....
  21. Been using it for years and am now looking for better. It is slow and cumbersome. Gets worse every time they "improve " it. Any suggestions on what is better?
  22. Very nice pieces. Really like that trivet pattern, one I saved also.
  23. Jim, I can not answer your questions, I would suspect that it would not yield a high gloss because the poly would be greatly diluted. Certainly be worth a try though, say on some scrap pieces. I will watch this thread and hope for a good answer. It would eliminate a step in the finish process.
  24. Those are all great looking pieces.
