  1. Jim, you really did a beautiful job on scrolling that. And I bet we see more like it. They are a great challenge. Mr. Zaffino made some beautiful patterns. I wish they were still available. Congratulations on that beautiful work of art.
  2. Great piece.
  3. Now that will put a person in the spirit! Nice!
  4. Surely is nice. Great scrolling.
  5. Great scrolling and finishing.
  6. Well done!
  7. Very nice. I love the coloring you did. Obvious you have lots of artist talent and imagenation. I'm very anxious to see more.
  8. Outstanding job. Personally I think the thicker 1/2" wood pictures are my favorite. That is beautiful.
  9. That is one of my favorite patterns. You did a beautiful scroll of it.
  10. Very well done!
  11. I'd love to see some photos worthy of your work. I think the would look great in focus.......
  12. Nice pieces. Just got to try some of those bowls. I made bowls when I was into the lathe work. Have not done any on the scroll saw,,,yet. I like them.
  13. I get excited every time I see you have posted more of your intarsia work. These certainly do not disappoint. Beautiful!
  14. I can see why they are so popular. Very neat signs.
  15. My go to blade. To be fair I have not tried many brands so I can not compare, but I have been very happy with the FD blades.
  16. Really nice. The lighted houses, churches, and villages are alway very neat.
  17. I but my Baltic Birch from local lumber yards. Comes in 5 ft. x 5 ft. sheets. We now have a Winsor Plywood Company in our area now. Great source for all kinds of wood.
  18. Probably one of the most discussed topics on this forum. To me it all boils down to personal preference. Search "glue" or "tape" here and there should be hundreds of posts. Personally I do it both ways, and it depends on what I am cutting. Very fragile pictures I use painters tape because I feel it helps hold things together. Less fragile I do not use the tape. I never use the clear tape over the pattern anymore, that did not work for me.
  19. Very nice!
  20. Welcome. Great to have you join us.
  21. Glad you signed up. I also look forward to critiques of my work from you. Great way to learn and improve.
  22. Welcome to the forum. I have a Skye friend in New Jersey. He is a wood worker, builds all kinds of things. He has a CNC router and has made me real nice set of gears I used on my street organ to run the crank for the bellows.
  23. I have two actually. First I bought the one from Harbor Freight. It is florescent, the one Steve Scrolling has. It is a good one for the price. I ended up removing the cover that was suspose to cover the magnifier lense when not in use. It kept getting in my way. I started experiencing headaches after using it a while. I decided it was the florescent light. They flicker all the time even though the human eye does not detect it. I have read that some people are sensitive to the flicker. So I bought a new one with LED light. It was over twice the cost but I like it much better. It has a glass lense also that will not as easily scratch. The LED light is brighter than the florscent also. No more, well not as many headaches. Not sure they had anything to do with the light, but I do like the LED somewhat better. When you shop, be aware of the magnification also. The Harbor Freight one was 1.5X or 1.75x magnification. The LED one is around 2.5x magnification. It is almost too much for me. Took me a while to get use to. I like it now, but I would not go more that it is. The LED one I ordered online from Columbia Indrustries. I have purchased other item from them, they have a hugh selection of all different kinds of thing. Great service. P.S. Welcome to the forum. Very glad you are here.
  24. Oh, ya! You did a beautiful job on that. One of the finest cutting I have seen. Love the frame also. I wish I had some imagenation when it come to making frames. Really nice all the way around. Congratulations!
