  1. I wax mine with Johnson Paste Wax about once a month.
  2. Well done!
  3. Kris, that is a beautiful scene. You did a great job making the pattern and scrolling it.
  4. I did it with R R by following the instructions that popped up when I tried to open the pdf in RR. It was instructions on copying it to clipboard first and then pasted it into RR. I will try your method. I also thought there was a way to "smooth out" the lines of a pattern in Inkscape. Thought I read that somewhere, but maybe not. Thanks for the info, I will give it a try when I get some ink for my printer.
  5. Well done!
  6. Great scrolling. I have only made one portrait of a real person and it was a thrill to see how much he appreciated it.
  7. Some very nice work there, Gordie.
  8. Ha! T'is the season for trivet! I'm planning on joining in shortly. Those are great. Very nice cuttings.
  9. Quite a setup. Great job!
  10. Thank you all for the nice comments. I have no idea how many cut it was, Dan. Wish I did but I am not going to count them! It was a real feeling of accomplishment to make the last cut. What made it more difficult is it came as a PDF file, as 8" x 10". Too small for this type of picture, in my opinion. I enlarged it which made the lines much less distinct/sharp. I didn't know how to fix that on the computer, so I spent quite a bit of time redrawing the lines and figuring where bridges should go. It was a challenge. I need to learn how to enlarge something like this and still keep sharp. I kept a printout of the original size of the PDF file by the saw to look at as a guide. Thanks again for you comments. Very much appreciated.
  11. I just finished cutting this last evening. It is cleaned up but no finish or frame yet. Turned out to be a 2 month project for me and two attempts before I finished. The pattern is from Woodworkers Workshop ( woodworkersworkshop.com/store ) and it is by Tom Mullane. I made this for my son-in-law to hang is his man den someday. He is of Norwegian ancestry and very proud of it so I thought he might like it.
  12. Another nice one. I prefer the oak with more grain in it, however you can get Popular with neat grain and some very interesting colors.
  13. I have the one from Kingspor and it is a good one. I intended to use it on portraits to remove the fuzzies from the back, and I have on a few less fragile ones. It worked good, but I am afraid to try it on more fragile ones. It would work good for fuzzy removal on the work art, and trivets and such. I have also thought it would be nice to have several with different grits on them. I do not like changing the refills. If I ever decide I can't get along without more, I will make my next ones using Steve Goods method.
  14. Those are really nice. I can see why they like them. Great looking grandkids, by the way.
  15. Great work, Steve, as usual. I have quit a collection of mini bird houses from my turning days. I will need to start a collection from my scrolling days.
  16. Very nice!
  17. Glad you joined us, Gary. I loom forward to seeing some of your scrolling.
  18. Steve you are going to be know as the "Trivet Man"! Those look great. I cannot wait until I get my current project done so I can try some of those great looking trivets.
  19. Very well done. Fun scrolling, wasn't it?
  20. I think you would have a great setup there. Maybe you could build one of those cabinet where the saw are a flip top. When you need the Ex it is on top in use, need the Dewalt and you flip the top and the dewalt is on top. Something like this:
  21. Welcome, beautiful work. Very anxious to see more!
  22. great scrolling
  23. Very well done!
  24. Clayton, that is really, I mean really nice. Great work, hope you are as proud of it as you should be.
  25. Welcome, Scott
