  1. I just ordered a gross of 3/0 blades from Mike's Workshop. The only change is the phone number at the site. It is now a Portland, Ore. number.
  2. I started spending a lot of time on the scroll saw about last August. Since that time, I have gained 10+ pounds!!! The only reason it isn't worse is I worked at removing 30 big arborvitae since than also. Most of that weight gain has be over the past 3 months. But I have a plan. I am building a platform on the handles of a treadmill that I can mount my scroll saw on!!
  3. Hans, best of luck on your move. It is a good decision, one my wife are contemplating. Our closest grandchild is 230 miles away which isn't a bad trip and we get there every few months, but it would be nice to be closer. It would be a big move for us, my wife and I were both born here in the area we live in. If you had a laptop you could keep us up to speed on your travels.......
  4. Again nice work. Great use of the little scraps that most throw away.
  5. Very nice! Thanks for showing it and the video
  6. Great piece, Dick. Maybe your wife will get a free or discount on her next visit.
  7. Read the post, follow the instructions...
  8. I love the wooden toys. You did a great job on yours. Have you checked out the plans on "Toys and Joys" site. They have some great looking ones. I have not made any though.... yet.
  9. Very well done.
  10. Very nice work on both. I need to make an RV one only with a trailer.
  11. Your usual excellent scrolling, Gator. I too like that covered bridge pattern about the best I have seen.
  12. Makes me wonder if they are going to keep Mike's Workshop name for blades... They have been FD selling blades all along. I figured they would just merge his stock into theirs. Anyway, they are out of spirals 3/0 size, that is a concern,,,, I've only got a gross and a half left!!!!!!!!!!!! Service may be slowed a little, I got responses from Mike on weekends. I can handle a little slower.....
  13. Been out looking at their site. They sell some of Mike Williams' and Charles Dearing's patterns plus some other great ones I hadn't see before.
  14. Thank you very much, Jim. Don't know why I couldn't locate it.
  15. Jim, wasn't trying to point out a mistake, just trying to find the pattern. I really like what you did and was going to steal some of your idea... Still haven't found that pattern, but I will or one very similar.
  16. Jim, you sure that hawk is a Neptun pattern? I searched for hawk patterns and looked through Neptun's pattern gallery. I could not find it. Do you know if it is still available and where? Thanks
  17. Very well done!
  18. Super work on both and thanks to the proud veterans. Love how you did that hawk. I've got to find some wood other than Baltic Birch. Nice work.
  19. It is very nice to read good things about Wooden Teddy Bear and I have been reading good words about them all day. Makes the sting of Mike retiring a little less.
  20. That is one "tricked out" scroll saw!
  21. Love spinny things like that. Great job!
  22. Will I think WTB has been selling FD blades all along, think that is where Heppnerguy (Dick) has been buying his. I just went to Mike's Workshop and no announcement there, I could still order blades, so I don't know. Like I stated, sorry if I miss-stated, but I will be happy if I did..... I do know Mike has been wanting to retire at 84.
  23. It was this post: http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/special-publicity/55885.htm Maybe they are talking about a different Mike, if so, I apology for spreading miss information, but I think I am correct.
  24. If I am getting this correctly, Mike has sold his business! It is sold to The Wooden Teddy Bear. If this is true, I am happy for Mike, and I wish him the very best. I will really miss his great service and thank him for the years he has provided the best service and a great product. I hope the new owners can live up to Mike's reputation. Wooden Teddy Bear is based in Portland, Ore. I think they have been selling Flying Dutchman blades all along. They should know the business well.
  25. What Dick just said +1. I no longer use tape of any kind. And, you are fine. Mineral Spirits to clean, and let dry completely before finishing. Drying is the only draw back I see to Mineral Spirits. It dries slow. But, while it dries, I am cutting a new project!
