  1. Nice gig, you got going there. Do you even have to look at the piece to cut it?? 190!!! Amen! Rats, with bushy tails.
  2. I'm thinking you are going to be very happy. Please give us you thoughts after a few time using it.
  3. Thank you all for the very nice comments. I do love the Charles Dearing patterns. Recently I ordered 7 of Mike Williams' patterns. Very anxious to give them a try. Lately most my cutting has been in /4" BB with a piece of scrap plywood for a backer. If like the look of depth 1/" gives on bigger pictures. This cutting is 17.5" x 10.5" Blades were breaking in the cut area. I used a piece of old oak scrap plywood as a backer and maybe I was pushing a bit too much with the harder plywood. Not sure, but I'm use to breaking blades. Just not normally this many.
  4. For some reason I really went through a lot of blades so do this one. 1/4" Baltic Birch, 3/0 New Spiral Flying Dutchman blades. Charles Dearing pattern.
  5. Head on out Larry, I'll buy Dick and Sharon and you and your significant other (PC) dinner!
  6. P.S. We who get to meet Heppnerguy (Dick and wife) are the lucky ones. Simply put, they are great people.
  7. Dick, it was an awesome time and not only because you bought lunch!! Patti and I had a great time and hope to get together again in the near future. Thanks for contacting me and arranging it all. Like I said it was great......
  8. You did a terrific job of cutting it. Looks great.
  9. Like you, Dick I keep trying new ways. I also am now a fan of glueing the pattern directly to the wood, removing with mineral spirits. I on longer use any tape except to help hold stacked pieces. I also us nails on stacked pieces to hold in the center of the stacked wood. I may not always stay with this because I keep experimenting with different ways.
  10. Okay, I'm not alone, we are all NUT!!!
  11. I have certainly been there done that. ... Just ask my wife!
  12. Hummmm, every time I start singing while scrolling my wife brings me my dust mask real quickly.......
  13. Scrappile did not find it! Good find Larry!
  14. I didn't even notice the site I posted said not available.... and I thought I was sooo smart. I have a set of kaleidoscope plans from the Forrest Street Designs place. They are good plans.
  15. That is a beautiful piece. I like the way you aged to wood. Great job.
  16. Does this work? http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/151714/world-map-scrollsaw-plan.aspx
  17. Thanks, Mike. I have the pattern and thanks for the link to that site. I spent over an hour there wondering around. Lots of interesting stuff.
  18. they are all very nicely done, I really like the ducks. What pattern is that.
  19. I use a Resp-O-Rator instead of a mask. I have a beard so a mask is not real good for me. I also just purchased a $16, 20" box fan, hooked a filter on it and I'm loving it. Doesn't get all the dust but it is a big help. My light/magnifier from Harbor Freight after looking at many. It was Less than $40 on sale. I am very happy with it.
  20. Samething, I have read about using shallow pan to lay the piece in. Never have tried it. If I was going to brush it, I think I would try some pipecleaners for real small openings and maybe have some of the ear cleaners on hand that have spunge ends instead of the cotton, they might work good.
  21. That is awesome, both pattern and your cutting of it. I also would like to know where the pattern came from. A+
  22. You really did a nice job on that! Great cutting and a great pattern. The Uncle's eye really have a look. All very nice.
  23. Great looking pictures. Well done. Even the paper pattern would look neat with a backing and framed.
  24. Very well done, Mike. You really did a great job on it. I have that pattern, hope I can do as well with it. Please post a picture of it framed..
  25. Okay, you did a great job on that but it is almost as creepie as your avatar! I've been trying to watch SOA and I just do not get it. How can that much killing, shooting, chrime, sex, violance,,, etc. go on in sweet little Charming and yet the common citizen is unaffected???! And how can so many bullets fly and no one gets hit......
