  1. Will since this has been reactivated lately, I thought I'd tell how it went. I emailed Pedro letting him know what I wanted to purchase on a Sunday evening. A reply was waiting for me the next morning. I paid through Paypal, and with in about 2 hours my pattern was ready for me to down load. It was painless. I hope I don't have the problem Lucky2 is mentioning, I have printed the pattern, but have not started the cutting. Not sure when I will get to it. Other things to get accomplished first. The pattern looks a little daunting to me because I have never done one like it before, but I'm sure I will figure it our.
  2. It's all been said. That is a great piece of art. I do not know how you do it.
  3. Beautiful piece.
  4. I don't think I have seen them that thin. You might go to a hobby store and see what size brass they have available. You might have to buy a small piece and cut your block from it.
  5. Glad you are here. What kind of questions do you have about scrolling. I'm sure you will find answers here.
  6. That is surely a beauty! I love the pattern and looks like it has been cut by an expert. What is the size of your picture? I differ, I love scrolling and do not look forward to the last cut. Then I have to start worrying the finishing. Hoping I don't break something cleaning up and all.
  7. Welcome to the forum. I'm an old man trying to work my way through finishing the basement. I start and them go sit at the scroll saw. I tell my wife I am planning as I saw.
  8. That is great! Obvious you put a lot of thought into it. Great work.
  9. I haven't been active here lately. Lots of things going on with Christmas, friends and family visits and good times. I did want to step in and show off one of my treasures from Christmas. This was built for me by my 15 year old Grandson in his wood shop class. He is the one in the family that has shown the most interest in my love for woodworking. This was very toughing for me. He is a great young man. I am very proud of him.
  10. Great scolling. I really like this one.
  11. I think you will be even happier when you fire it up and start scrolling!! Congratulations!!
  12. The way I do it is click on the pattern of interest. When it displays, right click on it, select the size you want to download, (left click: small, med, large, etc.). right click on the new displayed image and select "save as" to save it. That is my way, there may be others.
  13. Those are very cute and clever ornaments. I have got to add them to my list to try. Well done.
  14. I've convinced myself that not all sheets of BB are the same and not all wood on a single sheet is the same. I been cutting off pieces from a 5' x 5' piece and on a couple piceces I got lots of tear our and some small pieces fell out. Use the same techque I used with the rest of the sheet.
  15. Will I'm right handed, when I use straight blades (rarely) I go closkwise whenever possible. This usually puts the right side of the blade cutting along the outside of the line I am cutting and where the teeth of the blade protrude. Makes it easier for me to "file" or clean up along the line. Okay I know this makes no sense but I know what I mean, I just don't know how to explain it.
  16. I think you will be totally happy with it. Congratulations!!
  17. Well done! Give the Flying Dutchman New Spiral 3/0 a try and see what you think. It is a little smaller. I usually do best at stacking 2 sometimes 3 1/8" Baltic Birch. I struggle if I get any thicker than that, others get along just fine with it.
  18. Very very well done!!
  19. Very well done. Beautiful
  20. Danny, you did a great job of it! I also love that pattern, but haven't cut yet. Hope when I do it turns out as nice as yours.
  21. Very nice, Mike. She will love it. That is one of the patterns I didn't get from Charles. Oh well, I have more than I will complete anyway.
  22. Gotcha sounds good
  23. I went out and looked at it and my suggestion on the cost is but values in (maybe your are intending to). Like $50 - $150, $150 - $450, $450 - $1000, and over $1000. something on that order.
  24. I've tried top feeding many times and really struggle with it. I have an Ex - 21. I find it very difficult to line the hole I am feeding the blade through with the hole in the table. On the Ex there are holes around the blade hole and I often get the blade fed into one of those holes. I think I just not coordinated enough for top feeding. I'm a carp.
  25. Could have fooled me.. They look mighty good.
