Never tasted squirrel, but Ihave never tasted rat either. :lol: I'm not sure the ones we have are eating type. My neighbor brought them in, "because they are so cute". A while back I was talking to her and she said she just could not figure out why they did not stay around. I didn' t tell her it was because I have a nice quiet pellet gun! Sorry, but they destroy my walnuts. Wouldn't mind so much, but they just pick them when they are green and let them lay because they are not eatable yet. Such a waste... Also sorry, Dan, kinda hi-jacked the thread. I will say no more.

Sorry, I know longer keep track, but I would guess, based on when I did try to keep track, that it was around 20 - 25 hours. Hard to keep track, I start one, keep it on the saw and will scroll every chance I get. Sometime I sit there for several hours, sometimes a few minutes. I made a log to fill out sometime ago but found out I'd rather scroll than filling in a logsheet..... It got forgotten pretty quickly.

Thank you all for the very nice comments. I do love the Charles Dearing patterns. Recently I ordered 7 of Mike Williams' patterns. Very anxious to give them a try. Lately most my cutting has been in /4" BB with a piece of scrap plywood for a backer. If like the look of depth 1/" gives on bigger pictures. This cutting is 17.5" x 10.5" Blades were breaking in the cut area. I used a piece of old oak scrap plywood as a backer and maybe I was pushing a bit too much with the harder plywood. Not sure, but I'm use to breaking blades. Just not normally this many.

For some reason I really went through a lot of blades so do this one. 1/4" Baltic Birch, 3/0 New Spiral Flying Dutchman blades. Charles Dearing pattern.

Like you, Dick I keep trying new ways. I also am now a fan of glueing the pattern directly to the wood, removing with mineral spirits. I on longer use any tape except to help hold stacked pieces. I also us nails on stacked pieces to hold in the center of the stacked wood. I may not always stay with this because I keep experimenting with different ways.
