  1. Yes, I think the background shows it off better. Looks great.
  2. VERY NICELY DONE AND A WONDERFUL THOUGHT.
  3. Very nice scrolling and great idea, making it into a clock.
  4. Anyone looking for some old patterns, here are some free ones: http://www.finescrollsaw.com/freepatterns.htm
  5. Great job!
  6. Makes me wish I had a little Granddaughter. That looks like a fun build and you really did a nice job of it.
  7. looking real good. I love the reindeer and my wife wants a horse with her sleigh. By the way, in the 5th picture you posted here it looks like the sleigh runners are on backwards....
  8. Answer to #2, mine said "Type 2" on the label on the motor. I think the answer to #1 is yes. I'll let the ones interested argue question #3
  9. Great scrolling!
  10. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It is a great pattern and I enjoyed scrolling it although it took me a lot longer than I thought it would. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Dick, the spirals work great for me and I have problems with the straight blades. I don't know why but that is the way of things. I think the only time you really need to be able to use a spiral is if you cut a pattern like Charles Dearing makes, as large as he does. I have never done one that large yet, maybe I never will.
  11. Huh, I thought it was two different bowls also. No matter nice work. Beautiful wood.
  12. I think the answer is if the top arm lifts up it can be a "top" or "bottom" feeder as long as it has "quick" clamps in both top and bottom.
  13. Very nicely done! I love the old patterns like that. You did a great job with it.
  14. I decided I needed to do one for Christmas. This is a Sullyscroller pattern. Done in two stacked 1/4" Baltic Birch, 3/0 FD spiral blade. It is a great pattern, thank you Mr. Sullyscroller.
  15. That is a great site, I have used it many times over the years.
  16. Got to be preference. I bottom feed because I can't line the feed hole up with the table hole when I try to top feed. Causes me to bend blades. This in spite of the fact I think top feed makes more sense. Shirts should be buttoned from the top down, no arguement. If you start at the top, work down, your hands are down at the bottom so you can tuck the shirt in. duh!
  17. Very nice!
  18. Those are really nice looking clocks. I love the pattern and have not seen it before. The recipients are going to be very pleased.
  19. I'm liking them all.
  20. Very nice work, Gator.
  21. Very nice job with it!
  22. I have never done a show and don't think I probably ever well. I also have never made anything for Christmas gifts. BUT, for next year I plan on making lots of ornaments and Christmas things to give as gifts to family members. I watched the stuff others here were making and it looked like lots of fun, so I am really going to start early and give it a good try next year.
  23. That certainly deserves a big A+. You have created a beautiful piece.
  24. That is a great looking picture! Looks like he/she is paddling off into the sunset. Very nice work. You are doing good with the spirals. I love them for portrait type work. I have not done any other type of cutting with them so I don't know how well they work for things like word art, etc.
  25. I have seen pictures of setups with a box fan with a filter on it. Is that worth the trouble? I've been thinking of going that route but not sure if it does enough to make it worth while.
