  1. I was able to see the video after I downloaded it. The has got to be one for the first Excalibur put out. A real antique. Belongs in a museum! I sure hope you can get it working properly. no electronic to worry about on that puppy. Tried to up load your video also, did not work.
  2. You see, I am the youngest in my family also. Two older brothers, and I try to tell them your argument also, I They are not easily swayed. But they do admit I am and always have been the black sheep of the family..

  4. Or maybe they stopped because they did not want to chance that mistake again??!!
  5. After doing some searching on the internet, I found that is a Diana Thompson 3D pattern, so it is probably in one of her books, I just do not know which one. I do have this one and it is not in it.
  6. Wonderful pictorial.. and I also love your Lab(?) like mine is right in the middle of everything I do, mostly to drop a ball, for me to throw. spent a lot of time today, Ali, my best friend was with me the whole time putting his ball in the pile of leaves so I could hide it he could look for it spread the leaves back out to get to it. I have more patience with that dog than I ever had with my kids.
  7. Very nice for sure,, and as the man said you are a true wood worker and Halloween Skelton artist! So there, that's the truth!
  8. Welcome to the village. Does you saw say where it was made.. I did a search on EX 24 scroll saw and got nothing. I do know some of the older origional Excaliburs are almost impossible to find parts for. Must be some outfit that specializes in bearings could cross reference it. How about some pictures of you saw. We do have some pretty sharpe saw mechanics on here.
  9. Well done. A real feel good project. Guess I will have to search out another patterns... Dang so many patterns, so little time.
  10. Well I'll be darned. That is pretty cool... How do you melt them? In an oven? I would never have thought of that!
  11. I think the 3D cutting is probably the harded cutting for a scroll saw. I like to do it. I just finished cutting 4 each of MR and MS Kringle napkin rings. I cut them in blanks of 1.5" BB plywood. Each one tool me an average of 40 minutes to cut. It really worked my saw. Of the blades I have I found the #5 Pegas Skip worked the best... Used about 3 blades per piece. Maybe a #7 blade would have been better, not sure.
  12. Ha, my Hegner is 13 years old.. I keep thinking maybe I should change the bushings or something. But I really believe, do not fix what is not broken. If I had had to replace a cheaper saw every 3 - 4 years.. I could have had a Hegner for cheaper.
  13. Very nice scrolling.
  14. That did not take you long! Beautiful! Do you have to send that to Germany? Is so, you may need to mortgage your house! As always, you did a great job!
  15. I would love to know the origian of the Bless "Bless this Food" one. I made one similar for my daughter but it was more of a plaque with script. It has hung in her dinning room for years in a couple different houses, I like this one even better.
  16. Holy, moly, beautiful shop for sure. Makes me think I need to take a week or to and clean/reorganize mine.. but wait that would require time from scrolling.. I will make that my New Years Resolution... 2030!
  17. Unique and clever. Very well done.
  18. Well you can't get discouraged and give up... I have had a lot more failures at my own hands, than from poor quality wood, where I just give up and forgot it or started over.. usually it is started over. I am working on one of my past failures right now. Good person that made the pattern for me, went so far as to cut his pattern and send a finished picture to me.. How great is that? I will tell that story when I finish cutting the picture myself and post it! He threw down, the challenge, I accepted it and will not quit until I complete it. And I will forever be grateful to him for it,, That is the very thing that make this site so awesome. You have to put your shoulder to the wheel and push on... How is that! Push On brother, push on...
  19. The sad thing is, in the plywood world BB is the best you can get IMHO. But for several reasons good BB is becoming harder to get. I use it for pictures like portraits but use it less and less. But there are things that it is needed for. I hope it starts getting better. I use to buy mine from a plywood company. Winsdor Plywood, but there stuff has become expensive crap... The last batch I got from Ocooch has been good so far. Then you get into other wood, which are even more expensive and when you get it it cups... I do not know where this if going, will it get back to good wood sometime. I take my "chances with two places Ocooch and Cherokee... I do not know what to do if their products deteriorate,,, would be time to hang up the scroll saw!
  20. Very impressive. About the only things I have tried other than wood is Corian and Plexiglass
  21. WOW that surprises me. I have been using their BB recently and it has been good. Send them some pictures, They guarantee their wood, They will probably replace that piece.
  22. That laser might fit into my shop.. I make quite a few military emblem and one I had difficulty with is the Marine corps one. It has "semper fidelus" in real small letters on the emblem. I really struggle makeing it look nice. Very small to scroll, I have used decals but that is not easy either. How hard to you think it would be to laser it on with this type laser?
  23. Are you using Baltic Birch Plywood? It usually cuts fine. The plywood from the big box stores (Home Depot, etc.) have voids and lesser woods in it. If you haven't try some Baltic Birch plywood.
  24. I was just poking a little fun, I and I am sure everyone on here knows. I just having a little fun. I have a weird sense of humor.
  25. Those always make me smile like to gnomes do.
