  1. I would think Basswood would burn more. It is such soft wood. But I don't have a laser don't understand any thing about them. Maybe the harder to cut the more it burns.
  2. Frank, is that the original font that was on the pattern? I want to do one of these but I want to add something I don't know what the original font is.
  3. Kevin that is beautiful! I wish there was a scrollsaw version of it but I really don't see how and keep them of the size they should be...But a wonderful job.. Would not be the same without the text. Darn. This belongs in bragging rights. It takes talent to do this even on a lazer.
  4. Humm,,, I think your coloring is "outstanding". Just a note this reminded me of a bit of trivia Today 10/13 Is the Navy Birthday, and also National "No Bra Day". Do you think that is a coincidence? Okay, sorry I will go to my room now.
  5. Well it looks nice.
  6. Nice looking wreath, I don't know about the other two men that responded before me, The leaves can be any darn color you want no matter what she says,,, oops got to go, my she is looking over my shoulder... I may be gone for a little while..
  7. Those A-10's are an awesome war plane. Great job on yours.
  8. I love the little nativities. I also love the way you do a little extra an some of your puzzles like the different wood for the mane and tale of the horses. Added color to othe piecs. Sets them apart. Nice work on all
  9. Good to hear but I am wondering, could one not file the old wedge to a point again? I do not, or have not owned an Hawk saw so I am just asking.
  10. Scroll saw or not, that is very clever!
  11. Just my thoughts: Looks like a great drillpress. I like the variable speed if it holds up, if it quits, is the drill press dead? the lazer lights, to me are worthless. I have one on my Jet, never use it. Never could get is set correctly and as I lower the quill, to double check that the bit is hitting in the right spot, the quill blocks the light. And, because the light has to come down at in angle it changes the "X" spot as you move the table up and down. A pain to readjust. Not sure what the handle on the left side it for on the Wen. The other dislike I have is the depth adjustment. screwing those nuts up and down is a real pain. My first drill press I had was a HF, and it had a dial to set the depth. I love that compared to the nut adjustment. I think the pull out roller setup could come in handy. The price is certainly good.
  12. Never point out slight mistakes. Of coarse you know what they are but 9 times out of 10 no one else will. That is a fine looking picture.
  13. Those are really nice.
  14. Welcome. Glad you are joining us.
  15. For those that would like to cut it it is in our pattern library under Animals
  16. Really nice pieces. I bet the bottle openers sell good!
  17. Really nice cutting and love the coloring! I am thankful for the info you gave and grateful my mind can still comprehend it..
  18. Try some weight first, may save you the trouble of bolting it down.
  19. Yesterday, I decided to try the shelf and weight approach. Put a piece of wood on the horizonal braces, a bag of cement I have on it and went to around four bad spots to one vibrating spot at a speed I would never use. THANKS FOR THE HELP PEOPLE!
  20. Halloween? We never do anything for Halloween anymore. We live out in the country, and since all the kids on our little private road have grown up and left, we have no trick or treaters at all. Pretty sad, but such is life. I looked, I have only made on thing in my life related to Halloween. I made a pen for a Halloween pen contest. I did use the scroll saw to cut out the bats. The blank. is made from black pvc pipe, there were two halves to make up the blank, so the bats are in different locations on each side.
  21. Great job and the wood is spot on! My first intarsia is setting waiting for me to get back to it.
  22. Yep this is a great cut! I need to locate that pattern (just what I need another pattern I want to cut). You did a terrific job on it.
  23. Yes it is segmented, I did not paint the unpainted mahogany part. It is painted with craft paint and finished with Deft Gloss.
  24. Nice and fun! great cutting.
