  1. Looks like serious air is going to get moved. Please keep us posted.
  2. I'm not familiar with the shopsmiths. I would start looking for things that may be worn or have excessive play. Here is a link for the manual if you need it. http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/productmanuals.htm And one for a parts list. http://www.shopsmith.com/service/scroll_saw/scroll_saw_diagram.htm Hope this helps some.
  3. Kevin Truly great news. I'm happy for you. Will be nice to have access to all the tools. Post a pic when you get it set up. One last thought, didn't see that stash of teak? LOL
  4. The drills I buy from Mike's shop. My dewalt 14.4 will hold them too. I got a chuck from Mike's for my brill press but it wobbled pretty bad. I spnt extra for an adapter that works great but can not remember where I got it. Guess that old age thing is catching up with me .
  5. Getting an order ready although I still go through Mike's site. Only had one issue and they worked it out quick and gave great customer service.
  6. I have the one from Home Depot. Love it. The one before was a ryobi and inside a year the motor went bad. Shame on me for not registering the warranty, but I was not happy with it.
  7. Great job on your first piece. Looks like you have been doing it for a while. As for finishing. I would agree with the statements above. Some oil then poly. Once again, Fantastic job.
  8. I am a top feeder. For years I had no choice, when I got me EX-21 I had the option. For me it is faster, setting blade into the bottom holder is by feel and easy to do. As was stated above, it becomes a matter of personal choice.
  9. I normally stay with black, especially for portrait work. With hearts and the like I change to red. Same applies to the piece depending on the theme. The piece you are asking about, looks to be black behind it, attach the backer board then cut the outside and sand. Replace the key and finish as you desire. Hope I understood your question.
  10. Ralph I just clicked on the image, it opened in a fresh window, clicked on "save as" and had it. Hope this helps.
  11. Happy anniversary, wishing you guys many many more
  12. Scrappile You can export a file in inkscape as a png file. Not familiar with Rapid Rresizer so can't answer that part. I use Adobe for most of my prints.
  13. So many possibilities with such a great gift. Wished I lived closer to you. I could help you cut it down plane it and share it .
  14. I save mine as PDF. Open with Acrobat and print from there. If it bigger then a single page, you can select to print in poster and just tape the pages together for the pattern. Hope this helps.
  15. I just replaced my dremel tool. Love it for what I use it for.
  16. Normally around here, you can a lot on craigslist. FREE ! I use it for some projects depending on what it is.
  17. My shop is in my base, ent. Nothing makes it to the main part of the house, other then my clothes. A box fan with a furnace filter and a dust collection system seem to handle it well. This includes the tables saw, belt sander and all other power tools.
  18. Glad to hear this, a neat idea. My dust collection reaches my drill press so I don't have this to worry about. Just like my jointer, r placed a trash can under the exit to collect the shavings, less mess. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Seen this before. This guy has totally amazing talent, such a pleasure to watch again. Thanks Dick.
  20. Get better quick Ed. Well wishes and prayers to you for a full and quick recovery.
  21. Mine is in my basement shop.
  22. I have been cutting mine out of 1/2 oak. I use and small saw tooth hanger on the back of mine with short brads and pre-drill the holes about 1/2 way down. Hope this helps.
  23. Dick you may have summed this up pretty well. I use #1 flying dutchman for puzzles, although I don't do a lot of them
  24. I cut mine from 1/2" red oak. I was selling them at $25 may have to rethink that. Custom designs are $35 though. What good thread to read
  25. Okay didn't read "all" previous posts. I think the biggest thing is to keep if un and exciting. Going on this thought, I have ggrowwn a nice hobby the more then pays the bills.
