  1. Nice work John. I sort of agree with Bob about the clouds. Guess it all depends on what weather pattern your looking for. Still a nice job. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Paul Great job abd cutting. I think the No 7 reverse did a great job with you in control. 1 inch OAK is pretty tough to cut. With some of the turns and tight spaces I would be concerned about buring with a bigger blade like a number 9. Hats off to a great job. I'm sure they will be well received and greatly appreciated.
  3. Nice layout on the shop. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Absolutely beautiful. Great Job. Just may have to pick this pattern up after seeing this. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Very nice Paul. Love the way it looks, detailed and not busy. Great job. Stains I use minwax most of the time. Just started to play with dyes from HD Lockwood. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Great job on the portrait. And for a great cause too.
  7. Nice work. Love Eagles. You did this one proud.
  8. Nice job Gordie. Seen the post from him and wondered about them. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Fantastic work. Looks so life like. :) :)
  10. Personally I would use my band saw with a 3 - 4 tooth resaw blade. I use this for jigs for my table saw as runners and it lasts quite a long time. You can also use it for very thin runners on the bottoms of drawers using a table saw and the proper jig. I think the thinest I have ever sliced was just under 1/16 of an inch. If someone is using this for scrolling I would be delighted to know about it.
  11. At 7 I would not have had any idea what this meant. Scares me to think about the younger kids growing up today. I can rememeber many conversations with my Dad ( RIP ) when he stated " I'm glad I'm not rasing kids today. I have no idea how you do it." Now I go through that with my son and daughter. SUch a sad society anymore. End of RANT!
  12. Once your all cooled off, you know whats coming for dinner at least the veggies
  13. Always enjoy hearing when some gets a nice load of fresh wood. The only problem I have with it, is as I walk by it, I already know what is going to be. Guess the point has a lot to do with Patience.
  14. Beautiful work. Looks to be quite the momento for a great trip.
  15. Nice job Kevin. I can see you have been busy.
  16. Definately a great score.
  17. Kevin Just happened to see it moring coffee. But one thing I love about the village. Someone is always here to help. Just trying to return what I have gotten.
  18. Welcome to the village. Lots of great folks here and they are willing to help you along the journey of your addiction. Travis set up a tutirial section you may want to look through. I know it has helped me at times.
  19. Ralph I just tried to duplicate your issue. If you just right click and select save image as, it will give you the icon view. Left clcik on the icon of the pattern you want, it will open up it. Then you can right click and select save image as. It will then download the completed pattern in full size. I'm assuming you are running windows in this post. Hope this helps you. Wayne
  20. Great Job. I'm sure it will be treasured for a long time.
  21. Never fond of the idea of walking away from a project for any reason. Sounds like that heat could cause some problems though. We are thinking and looking at a house in Corpus Christi, gets pretty warm there too. Planning on putting a/c in the shop though. Mine right now never sees the temps above 75 or below 50 in the winters up here.
  22. I run Corel Draw x6 and went to inkscape for word art. The little difference in the versions of Corel made it hard for me to learn things. Still working with it, but not if I need something quick. Best of luck with it. It's a great program and worth the money spent, but I also think for scrolling it's very pricey.
  23. SO Happy for you Marg. Looking forward to the projects you create with it.
  24. Been there too. My biggest problem is NOT using a zero clearance insert or cover. I don't have a dewalt or better saw. I am still using my 18" Porter Cable and this is critical to remember. So I feel your pain, especially after an evening of cutting and getting into that rush mode and in seconds it's all over.
  25. I use the blue painters tape. Never experienced this problem on baltic birch. Sometimes it is tough to lift and get off but normally no issues. The trick of using mineral spirits works great but you have to let the piece dry for a day till you can put finish on it. That's the system Karl Taylor uses. And it works great. I just normally have the time to wait for additional chemicals to dry.
