Does bloodwood stay that color or does it turn dark like padauk? I'm very disappointed in the projects I've made using padauk.

I used Pegas super skips in #5. As said, no reverse teeth needed. I was cutting some old hard Douglas fir cut down 2x4's. Tough stuff.

I'm in the same boat. I hated having to carry readers with me. I was used to wearing glasses and actually missed them. So I had a new progressive lens made that had no prescription on the top half and only at the point where my eyes needed help. About 3 feet out and closer. So for me, nothing changed. I still use the same lighted magnifier and computer monitor distance. I have the "Transistion" coating that darkens when outdoors. So, one pair of glasses is all I need. No shirt pocket is necessary. I won't be losing my glasses because they are on my head unless I'm sleeping or showering.

That's great Paul. It looks great. Just like the one I had. They do take up a lot of space. Very large format. Once you figure out the tensioning set up, you'll love it. Set it and forget it. That paint spatter may soften up with a heat gun. Now that you have finally pulled the trigger, you can get back to sawing and forget the ads. I'm just about to to pull the trigger on that 14" Hegner that I was telling about. The guy just wants it gone but so far no bites. He's asking $100 complete with stand, foot switch and lite. I've tried to tell him it's worth more but he just wants it gone. So, it may come home with me. I really don't need another saw but it's really tugging at me. Even my wife said I should go get it. That's saying something.

I have a few unfinished. Mainly because I have never learned the art of finishing. Other than dipping in oil or a few coats of poly, I don't know how to really get the finish that I can be proud of. Dave Monk has it mastered but he is lucky enough to have the space to work in and has purchased all the right equipment. I know you have it down pat, but I have never figured it out. I have one cutting that is waiting for me to come up with a frame for it but I can't seem to find what I want for wood or design. So, no, you aren't alone.

A Question for all the Hegner owners!

Yeah, I do appreciate your suggestion but what I really was looking for was a way to get around the $50+ cost of a Hegner replacement bellows. The CV boot has worked out well. I used one on both of my Hegners. I have since sold one but the other is doing fine. Thanks again. -

That is the one thing that she still wants me to make. I had the patterns all printed at FedEx but then life got in the way. She fell and broke her leg and nothing has been the same since.

I'm sure if I did a search that I might find a craft show but they are scarce around me. So. Cal. is a strange place. Not like "small-town America. Everything is about the dollar. If I do find a show, I'm sure they would charge a fee to sell.

For some reason toys are just not my thing. I thought about them but decided they would not whet my appetite.

I like making boxes, bowls and baskets. I must admit though that I have not mastered the finishing process.

Maybe I'll still build that dream router table someday, but this one does everything I need it to do. I have this same table. I'd be interested in what you don't like and find a fix for. I use a Dewalt router in it and it works for what I need it for.

I have a problem begging for an answer. I love making stuff. BUT, here's the problem. My wife informed me she has no room or need, for any more of my "creations". So the question is, what do you good people do with your stuff? I've given things to friends and family. Not sure if they need any more. I'm not into selling because I get bored making the same things over and over. Any suggestions?

This brings me to tell, once again, how when I was 8 years old my parents asked me if I'd like to learn a musical instrument. I said yes, a guitar. So they bought me an accordion and 8 miserable years of lessons. I learned to HATE the accordion.
