  1. Kevin put me onto them a couple of years back. My biggest problem is that I'm truly a miser and I tend to keep all the little scraps of the labels when I cut them out. I hate to waste them so I have a stack of them but never seem to have one big enough for what I need.
  2. Go to the Works in Progress/Tutorial forum a couple of clicks down from this one. Kris Martinson has put together a great tutorial on using Gimp 2.0 for doing just what you want.
  3. Very nice Denny. I guess I'm going to have to give them spirals a try sometime.
  4. Thanks for the great update. I also use the shipping labels. I use either the shelf liner or blue tape but once the shipping label is on I put a covering of the clear tape. I like this process and it works well. I don't do much stack cutting but I will in the future.
  5. Well, whenever I get in a Zen mood, that's when I either screw up or injure myself. Just sayin......
  6. I sure hope you did the outsides on the bandsaw. A good circle cutting jig will do wonders.
  7. The idea is good. You just need to "work out" the kinks. There are many videos on Youtube that might help.
  8. Maybe a drop of blue LocTite is called for.
  9. Yes, I forgot about the arm. You didn't pick the saw up by the arm did you? That's a definitie NO NO.
  10. The only thing that could happen is if the motor bolts came loose. That's where you adjust the aggressive cut.
  11. The "great escape"?
  12. I thought something bad happened to your cat. Gladly not.
  13. Beautiful job of patterning and cutting. I love the old west too. I wish there were more shows on tv.
  14. You too huh? Just "celebrated" 50 years together. And I have the whip marks to prove it.
  15. If you want the tab to be on the end and centered, cut it first before you apply the pattern. Then, stay away from cutting that part of the pattern or you will cut it off.
  16. Amen Brother, Why is it a man can get his point across in a few words but it takes a woman all day and even then they may not be finished.
  17. Well Denny, you were supposed to know that that person was coming in. They probably wanted something you didn't have anyway.
  18. I don't think it's your imagination.
  19. Thank you Dan for having a cool head. People have gone nuts over this whole thing. Over reacting seems to be the order of the day.
  20. It doesn't work. It can't work.
  21. It looks to me that you may be the "new kid on the block" but you are no stranger to the art of woodworking. Nice work. Welcome aboard. We'll all be learning from you it seems.
  22. That's right Ralph. The pattern is wrong in that area. That tab can only be on one side.
  23. On that I agree. I must have worded my reply badly.
  24. I completely understand Les. He cuts one side and all is good. But when he gets to the other side, it's gone.
  25. Thanks Larry. Don't get me wrong. I would like to try one first. I have watched the video and it looks easy but there just seems to be too many moving parts and add-ons. I don't know anybody who has one that I could see/feel/try. I like the idea though.
