That looks like a machinist's scribe and General Hardware sells them. I've got a passel of them. A wonderful tool for so many things. I've even used it to scribe a line. LOL.

Hey Randy, not sure if you saw a previous post about how to put a degree symbol in your posts but it is really easy. Just hold down the Alt key and type 0176 and it will put that symbol right where you want it. If you already knew that, I ask your forgiveness.

I suppose that you could drill holes where you want your popular settings to be. The pin is a spring loaded push pin that you just push in and turn the lock knob. Then release the pin and it retracts. Not a difficult thing to fix. Just sayin......

I don't think there would be enough of a difference between the 2 and the 2 1/8. A 1/16th on each side wouldn't look that much different. I definitely don't care for the big one. Do they offer a 2 1/2"? I think that would look better.

Kevin, rather than get yourself all worked up over it, why not just give them a call and see what is the hold up. They may have had a few orders in the pipeline prior to yours. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and call them. By waiting to hear from them, you're just getting yourself all wound up inside. You know you want the saw so why not just call them and go on to setting up your new toys?

What vintage is yours? Mine is a 2010. Holes are also oblong but tubes fit perfectly. In fact so close that my labels had to be moved to inside the tube.

I found on Amazon a plastic rack that came with 60 tubes with caps. I think it was about $15 bucks. I'll see if I can find the order. It's been a couple of years. The tubes fit the holes in the EX perfectly and are the right length.

I too was wondering about wood paneling. I want to cover the walls of my shop and thought it would be cheaper than the heavy white pegboard.

Got it. Now I understand your post. I had no idea about the cedar pollen season. All we ever have around here is mold and mildew and Santa Ana winds.

Not at all. I just couldn't find any "red" cedar that has more consistent color/grain. Not sure what you mean by pollen killing you, etc. Did I miss something?

When I was doing the compound cuts for the votive holder that I just finished, I started out using aromatic cedar because I couldn't find any red cedar. Well, I got a couple of them cut and then I ran into a piece that had a definite color change between the red and white wood. When I took it out of the tape, the piece literally split right along that color line. And all the rest of my wood had that same color line running through it. So, I had to change over to mahogany and recut all the pieces that I had already cut. But, as Stoney says, it's called practice. I love it.

Be careful when cutting cheap luan. I got hold of some throw away stuff when I first started scrolling. I wasn't using a mask and I breathed in the fine dust from it. I don't know what was in that wood but I had a terrible allergic reaction to it. I tossed it all in the dumpster.

Believe me, I know just what you're talking about. All I have to do is get 5 steps away from the john and it kicks in. Actually, I've renamed our "john" to "jim" so I can say that I go to the "gym" every day at least once.

I find those along the freeway all the time. I'll have to be more careful before bringing them home. Maybe that's what they are being used for. Long trips and such.

Well, in the days of olde, they used "chamber pots" so that may be your answer. With my "old man's bladder" I take it as a sign that I need to get up and move every once in a while. I've just about done in my neighbor's hedge. LOL.
