  1. That makes sense as the date was for later THIS year. I was hoping and praying that it was not a mistake. That would have been terrible. For such a work of art.
  2. Dave, I'm curious about the date on your plaque. What exactly does it commemmorate that hasn't happened yet? Is it a wedding thing for future use? I love the pattern. Where'd you find it?
  3. It looks like you unscrewed the rod to the point that it fell out if the adjustment wedge. Easy fix. And I don't see the bar that the wedge slides against to apply the lift to the upper arm. Nothing too tough to fix if you understand what is happening when you turn the tension knob/lever. Here is a good clear pic of how it should look. You can see the wedge and the plate above it. The rod screws into the wedge and pulls forward when you apply tension. The wedge "forces" the upper arm to move up and that makes the blade get tight.
  4. What size blade?
  5. Beautiful work Dave. As always. You have a real gift for making beautiful stuff. Would you tell me where you find the sapele? When I was looking fo it, I found none from any of the regular sources. I wanted it for the bowl I made and was forced to use padaul instead and now it has darkened to almost brown.
  6. It doesn't. The picture is confusing. The rod goes up through that cover and the bearing goes on top of the rid and sits in the groove on the underside of the adjuster knob. Look at the pics and not the diagram.
  7. I guess it really all depends on how bad you want it. I have a 16 & 21 green so I'd love to have it just to complete the set. $700 doesn't sound bad for all that appears to be included but being who I am, I'd have to dicker some. Depends on circumstances. Those 30 inchers don't come up often.
  8. The last saw I bought was about that same time/distance. If the deal is good, I'd already be on the road. What are you waiting for?
  9. The last time they offered all the available back issues they were $5 ea plus shipping. I bought about 30 of them to fill in what I was missing. I have almost a full set of them now and truly enjoy going back and reading the old ones. The problem I have though is I forget I'm reading an old outdated magazine and find something interesting with a website URL but they never work. Oh well................
  10. I was diagnosed with SA many years ago and they prescribed a CPAP. It was set at 13 whatever that means. Anyway, the pressure was enough to make my mouth fall open so they put a chin strap on me. One night, my nose got congested and didn't let the air through so with the chin strap holding my mouth shut and no air through my nose, I woke up thinking I was drowning. Scared the hell out of me. I tore that thing off and never put it back on again. The last I saw of it was when we have an estate sale and somebody bought it. The apnea either went away or I still have it and don't know it. That was about 20 years ago.
  11. I'm not sure exactly of what you are speaking. A picture might help. Are you sure you got the wedge and slider all back where they should be? If so, it's just a matter of aligning the rod, putting the cover over it and the rest of the small pieces. There is a sleeve that fits over the bent end of the rod and that fits into the cover so that when the cover is rotated it pulls/pushes the rod to either add or reduce tension.
  12. Well, until you blew it up, it looked great.
  13. You described me. I'm a jack of all trades and master of none. I've not run into anything that I can't at least attemp to fix or make. Sometimes I get in over my head and have to ask for help but most generally if I did deep enough I can find the answer and git er done!
  14. I agree with what you say. I'd love to be able to do it all but age, shop size, and wallet all figure into it. I found that I can satify my need for working with wood in the newfound hobby of scrolling. It seems to satisfy my need to create something. I keep looking for patterns that I can use but with some alteratiion to come up with something that serves a purpose. I'm really not into wall hanger or desk sitter. But, I appreciate whatever anybody makes if they truly put their all into doing it. Larry, your intarsia is beautiful. Your love of the hobby shines through.
  15. Looks good to me. Where'd you find the tree of life pattern? I'd like to cut that one.
  16. I've been wearing them for about 8 years. I swore they didn't help but now when I take them off, I can tell the difference. I also just added a different sound bar to our tv. It's more of a treble than a bass sound and I can hear spoken words so much better. I had been having a terrible time hearing the tv clearly. Most of the time we both wear TV Ears so that we can regulate the sound that is comfortable and not have the tv turned up so loud it runs the cats out of the room.
  17. Just for those who aren't familiar with Artcraftersonline.com, I placed an order with Denny Knappen on Saturday the 11th for some Pegas blades and a package of micro drill bits. He processed it and shot me an email to tell me that it would ship out Monday the 13th. Today, the 15th, it arrived. Tennessee to California in 2 days. You can't beat that for service. Both by Denny and the USPS. Hats off to both. Thanks Denny.
  18. That's what I was going to suggest. Either that or sandwich the plexi between the two layers and just darken the exposed edge with something like a felt pen or plexi dye.
  19. I did read that but I took " draughty" to mean chilly. Not wide open to the elements.
  20. Well, I'll be durned! No numbers?
  21. When you load it onto your computer, they should be there.
  22. Yeah, it was mentioned about her standing and I didn't refute it but I thought she was on a tall stool too. It also looks like she is working in the "open air". If I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing. Must be fairly cool during the winter months. I'm thinking about redoing my setup to do the same except for that open-air thing. But, first I must find the right tall stool.
  23. Congrats! Now show us your projects. We love pics and they give us ideas and inspiration.
  24. I'm so happy for you. Like buying a new truck! Nothing like it. Just no "new" smell. Exciting!
