    I would not use a router. They are much harder to control and if you aren't adept at using one can be very dangerous. Learn to use your scroll saw. Cutting circles is difficult but not impossible. Use up some scrap wood and practice. It's mostly just a bit of coordinating your cut speed and hand speed. That's why practice is important. Once you get the feel of it, you'll do fine. Regarding what is available to you where you are, is it possible for regular folks like us here in the U.S. to ship things to you without incurring a lot of import duty. Sort of like sending gifts at Christmas and birthdays might be. If we could be of help to get you the supplies that you need, I know we could get something set up here. Other than the actual cost of shipping and the cost of goods, maybe we could get you what you can't find where you are.

    That's my park. She must be fairly new if she's paying that much. Why don't you PM me her name etc. I'd like to know who she is. We had one lady move in and she pretty much stole the home and said that she would stay 5 years and then walk away from it.

    I'd be interested in which park she's in. At that rent it's got to be down closer to the beach. We are a mile from Bolsa Chica and our rent is right at $1400. New folks coming in get hit for $2295/mo

    Well, I love California and especially where we are at but the politics here and the cost of living is just almost not worth the weather. But, since the park changed hands and the lot rents went through the roof, it's almost impossible to sell a home now. Oh, we could sell ours but we'd take too big of a hit on it. The $100k depreciation is just too much to swallow. So, we'll stay here.

    We decided we are just too old to be making any moves so I guess that's the answer. I wish we were 10 years younger. We'd be gone.

    I completely agree with you Dick. I think that's the reason I don't get involved with any long-term fretwork patterns. By the time I would finish one, I'd be completely tired of looking at it.

    That looks like a real good deal on that saw. I've seen saws similar for a whole lot more money. If I had a place for it, I'd certainly consider buying it.

    I just went to find the one you mentioned Paul and found this one also. Give it a watch. This guy has waaaay to much patience. I could never undertake anything like this and complete it. Enjoy.

    I really did try top feeding but after putting the blade through the hole in the wood, I couldn't find the hole in the table. So, I'm back to being a bottom feeder. It must by the catfish in me. Or I'm part lawyer.

    What Dan said. I have 2 Excaliburs and have added the Pegas clamps to both. Love them. And so far, no blade slippage. If they start slipping I'll just get out my sanding jig that Dan suggested.

    What got me started in scrolling was a guy who I watched out at the Orange County Fair who was doing marquetry using a home made foot powered scroll saw. I took one of his classes and bought a tool package from him. In that package was a Dremel countersink mounted in a hand held pin vice. That's what I use. I use a Dremel plunge router with needle drill bits. I have a number drill set that goes from #1 to #80. Most blades will tell you what number drill bit to use. Denny Knappen sells the most popular sizes in 10 packs. When I get all done drilling out the holes, I flip the board over and countersink the holes and then just touch them with a marker to highlight them.

    I love it! Now all I have to do is find someone who has a pug. They keep getting stolen here in the People's Republic.

    I have a very small countersink that I "open" up the drill holes on the under side. Then I take a black marker and dot all the holes. It's fairly easy to see them without having to stand upside down. Far easier than top feeding as far as I'm concerned.

    The Pegas clamps are a definite improvement.

    If your saw doesn't have that lever it will have the black knob at the rear that is to be used to adjust the arm height. It wasn't meant to be used for tension adjustment but can be.

    At one time, I thought about a ShopSmith but after seeing how much trouble it is to use each piece, I decided I don't have the patience. My hat's off to you folks who are able to do it.
