    I really did try top feeding but after putting the blade through the hole in the wood, I couldn't find the hole in the table. So, I'm back to being a bottom feeder. It must by the catfish in me. Or I'm part lawyer.

    What Dan said. I have 2 Excaliburs and have added the Pegas clamps to both. Love them. And so far, no blade slippage. If they start slipping I'll just get out my sanding jig that Dan suggested.

    What got me started in scrolling was a guy who I watched out at the Orange County Fair who was doing marquetry using a home made foot powered scroll saw. I took one of his classes and bought a tool package from him. In that package was a Dremel countersink mounted in a hand held pin vice. That's what I use. I use a Dremel plunge router with needle drill bits. I have a number drill set that goes from #1 to #80. Most blades will tell you what number drill bit to use. Denny Knappen sells the most popular sizes in 10 packs. When I get all done drilling out the holes, I flip the board over and countersink the holes and then just touch them with a marker to highlight them.

    I love it! Now all I have to do is find someone who has a pug. They keep getting stolen here in the People's Republic.

    I have a very small countersink that I "open" up the drill holes on the under side. Then I take a black marker and dot all the holes. It's fairly easy to see them without having to stand upside down. Far easier than top feeding as far as I'm concerned.

    The Pegas clamps are a definite improvement.

    If your saw doesn't have that lever it will have the black knob at the rear that is to be used to adjust the arm height. It wasn't meant to be used for tension adjustment but can be.

    At one time, I thought about a ShopSmith but after seeing how much trouble it is to use each piece, I decided I don't have the patience. My hat's off to you folks who are able to do it.

    This does bring up an interesting question. For me at least. I cut most everything on one or the other of my Excalibur saws. I usually use a #5 mgt blade but when I was trying to cut the tiny reindeer earrings that Charley makes, I tried using some Pegas 2/0 blades. Leaving everything set the same way on my saw, I would insert the blade, take the slack out of the mechanism and flip the lever on my Pegas clamps. Either the blade would break instantly or soon after I started cutting. There is no tension adjustment on these saws if you try to maintain the upper arm at level to the table. The only way I could get them to not break was to either not take the slack out, or turn the large knob at the rear a half turn. Or something like that. How do you other Pegas/Excalibur/Seyco users do it?

    I've been wanting to build a table/bench that could be used for working on out in my driveway. And it will also serve as an outfeed table. I've just been waiting for the price of lumber to come down a bit.

    Yes, I agree. We just don't have space for most of that stuff. I have to find people who what to be "gifted" with the stuff I make.

    Good find. Around where I live, even in that shape, I'd probably have to give $100 for the dresser and $50 for the table. Nothing comes cheap in So Cal unless you are on the dole.

    After watching that video done by Fiona Higdon (sp) that was recently posted by Steve Good, I was amazed at her artwork using 3/4" stock. I really think it is the scrollers choice and only achieved through trial & error.

    If I'm not mistaken, and don't quote me, I think they come out of the same factory. Probably the same saws with a different paint scheme.

    If I recall, Fiona used paper that had a coating of beeswax on it.
