  1. I used to buy Forrest when I was gainfully employed but those days are gone.
  2. What blade do you recommend Frank? I'm thinking about a Diablo 80 tooth.
  3. Another good reason to keep a cold beer close.
  4. I hang out here mostly but I also belong to every scroll saw/woodworking related group on Facebook. I am constantly telling folks on there about this website and our fantastic group. I just got a young lady from Kansas to join yesterday and I think she will be buying a used saw from one of our members. It's truly a "family" here.
  5. Don, I feel the exact same way.

I did that just recently when making a spiral cut bowl. I needed a wider kerf so I just decided to give it a try. I guess it wasn't the first time it had been done. You have to let the blades sort of "nest" together side by side because of the cut of the teeth. They will be just a tad bit offset to each other.
  7. Frank, you mentioned dusting the joint with sawdust to fill any gaps. Along that same line, I picked up a hint while watching the old Japanese guy I've been following on YOutube. He adds salt to his glue up to keep the wood from "sliding" on the glue. I thought that looked like something that would be helpful to pass along.
  8. Hey Aleasha, glad you found us. If you check the Hot Deals forum further down the list you'll find my post about your needing a saw. There is a fellow who has what you need and will work with you on delivery. His name is Jim Browning and reliable.
  9. Thanks for a great intro. But, unless you're going back to Illinois for some other reason at today's fuel prices you'd be able to buy a new saw for less than the gas to go round trip. Anyway, I'm sure you're going for more than that. Happy you found this great group. I've been here going on 8 years now and so happy I found it when I did. Welcome!
  10. No shortage of patterns if you have an imagination.
  11. I visited the street address where I was born and it's now a vacant lot. I'm so happy my folks decided to pull up stakes and move West in 1948. The entire neighborhood where I lived has gone down hill. Terrible to see.
  12. I've not had one problem with any of the H/F tools I've purchased.
  13. Well, they are supposed to be pretty dependable from all that I've heard and read but I guess it all depends on who their vendor is. I've not bought any of their stuff so I can't give any input but I sure hope you get your satisfaction from them because this a very big forum to air your grievances on and I'm sure they don't want thousands of people hearing about your trials and tribulations. Best of luck to you.
  14. Thanks Dave, I see now that you are talking about large scale drum sander. Sorry for your situation but it sounds like there is some communication problems. What brand is it? For future information.
  15. What make is your drum sander? Is it an occillating unit? I have a Ridgid occillating spindle sander and if it's going to be a problem, I'd like to know now so I can sell it.
  16. Were you supposed to run it off batteries? DC? WTH? As to the table saw, wasn't your table top adjustable? Mine was and I had to square it to my saw blade when I first got it.
  17. You do realize that your statement requires some explanation. Something has pissed you off and we'd all love to hear about it.
  18. I've been trying to find a source for those "L-bolts" expecially if they have flattened ends. I watch a lot of videos put out by a Japanese woodworker and he made some things using them but his source dried up. I can't find them anywhere because I don't know what they are correctly called. Can anybody give me any ideas on what they might be called other than L-bolts? I've tried everything I can think of. I have a few projects that I need them for and if they are too short they won't work. Clamp blocks and fence accessories are in my playbook. If you ever want to spend some time watching a series of videos, there is no dialogue just soft music. Very relaxing. His name is OHYO56 and he is very imaginative.
  19. I didn't realize they had a "free" website. I was one of their charter subscribers and had every copy up until we went out on the road and had to shut them off. Thanks. I'll check it out.
  20. Where abouts are you in Wi? I was born in Racine.
  21. Where can I find the download?
  22. You could go even farther with it and add a couple of wings to it that fold like a dining table. Might be handy to have a place to put stuff when in use.
  23. It definitely doesn't take up much room. I'd have to make it shorter though. I'm a "setter" not a "stander".
  24. Wayne, I'm trying to picture your stand as you described it and I can't get a mental picture. Can you maybe post a pic?
  25. I'm just curious, those of you who have watched this video, were you able to hear and/or understand what this guy was saying? I've turned up my volume to full blast and can't understand a word he says. I'm going in for the third watch to see if I can pick up anything I missed. I sort of know what he's saying but can't understand him at all.
