  1. That's great service by both Denny and the USPS. Around where I live, it takes 3 days to go across town.
  2. In reading further down on the ad it says its also known as Scheppach. That name sounds familiar.
  3. Yes, I've seen many of them but I get a kick out of finding stuff that's no longer marketed.
  4. Congrats on your beautiful new toy. I envy you the excitement. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
  5. Charley, would it be possible for you to post a pic of the switch you have? I'm doing a search for one and it might help to know which one you have.
  6. I know right where they are. They're with my missing socks.
  7. I have 2 Excaliburs that I built low tables that are moveable. Each one has 2 7" wheels at the back end opposite from where I sit. I have incorporated a couple of pieces of PVC that slide inside of each other to make wheelbarrow type handles to move the saws around. When not needed the smaller PVC slides inside of the larger PVC. Each saw has it's own onboard dust control system using MetroVac 500 vacuums and mini cyclone dust collectors. All in all, they work out great. There are plans out there but I like mine better. Good luck with whatever you come up with.
  8. I was wondering about Tupperware.
  9. Prayers for those folks in the Ukraine. Let's all hope and pray that this is over quickly with a positive outcome.
  10. I'm sorry but I had to point it out. The use of Vise-Grips should be the absolute last choice. There is always a better way.
  11. It sure seems like there are a lot of Michigan'ers on here. Popular place to live.
  12. Where are you located? There are tons of used saws in my area and I'd be happy to search out one for you. Send me the info on your saw so I can be sure it's the exact same saw.
  13. Me too.
  14. You never realize how much you need/use some things until you don't have them. I was really worried it might not come back. So glad it did. Thanks Travis.
  15. I visit the Facebook groups often and try hard to promote SSV to those folks who don't know about it. I see a few of you folks on there from time to time. Keep spreading the word that SSV is the BEST scroll saw forum available with the friendliest people. Thanks Travis for providing it to us. We all appreciate your time and effort.
  16. I'd love to do what you are doing but the power in our park is so antiquated that each homesite has only 50 amp service so I have to be very careful what equipment I have running at one time. If my wife turns on the garbage disposal at the same time I'm running my table saw/vacuum cleaner, it might trip a breaker. I have my shop wired for 1 15 amp circuit for lighting and 1 20 amp circuit for outlets. I wish we could make use of the 220 that is at each post but I've been warned not to mess with it.
  17. Thanks Denny. I mounted a 2x to my wall and have the light attached to it so that I can swing the light to either of my Ex's. I have minor vibrations at certain speeds on each saw so this way my light is not effected.
  18. Congrats on your new "baby". I might suggest that you mount your light to a wall bracket or something independent of the saw though. Eliminate any jittering of the magnifier from vibration.
  19. I've heard that they don't really work that well.
  20. At our age, you'd think we had better sense. But, alas, we don't. Maybe now we do though.
  21. I wasn't paying attention one time and ran the end of my thumb into the #5 mgt blade. It did cut a very nice clean kerf in my thumb. Lesson learned: pay attention!
  22. My experience was related to my Dewalt. But with that said, I still prefer the Pegas chucks over the originals on both of my Ex's.
  23. I found less vibration and the simplicity of flipping a lever to apply tension much easier than rotating the slider. And my saw just seemed better & quieter.
  24. Excellent question Mark, if he is trying to use a foot control from a sewing machine, that could be a problem. I'm sure more info will be forthcoming.
