  1. Still need the other half Jim.
  2. Working on it.
  3. When you get really good with it, I've got a great walnut log that I have been going to try my hand at resawing. I might just load it up and bring it out to you.
  4. I'm not quite understanding what the two are about. I understand the top one but what's puzzling about the star? Never mind, I went back and now see that it's a puzzle that holds the pieces that are then supposed to be put into a star. Great idea. I might have to make one.
  5. No problem. Not taken that way at all.
  6. That one would be very easy to photograph and trace over. Nothing but straight lines.
  7. Those are excellent Bob. Can you share the pattern? I'd like to give it a try. Thanks.
  8. I had no idea that I was that bad. I will stop "liking" everything. I do it so I know which posts I've read. I guess I've developed a bad habit. It stops now.
  9. I just went out and looked at the new ones and they are also priced a $9.95. That's a great price too. You'll find a ton of great stuff to make in that book.
  10. eBay or a new one?
  11. I put in a request for help with the Brother support team. I tried to explain my problem and I can only hope they can offer some fix.
  12. Ok, I found what you referred to. I have no margins set so what should that setting be? I clicked on the box that says to resize page to selection but I have no idea what it does. If anything.
  13. No, thanks. I will check it out. Way too many settings between Inkscape and printer setup. Seems like there should be some form of standardization after all these years. Maybe I'm just to old to absorb all of them.
  14. Well, they must have just started offering it recently because I was trying to find it for a few folks who wanted it at one time and it was not available. Only used and they were scarce.
  15. We are a group on our own. Very exclusive.
  16. Charley, I was going to mention that you had the "perfect woman" but thought better of it. Oh well, now I'm in trouble for sure.
  17. Yeah, that's about where I'm at. I did find a good set of videos on youtube that explain Inkscape. I'm watching yet more of them. At some point, I'll know all the basics. Understanding them, probably not. My laser printer is Brother model MFC-9130CW. It prints really great. Not meant for photos though.
  18. I have done many of the projects in this book as you all know by now and it's been out of print for some time. I just found a used copy on eBay if anybody is interested. With shipping it's under $10. That's a great price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203104794546?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=203104794546&targetid=1262749490782&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9031544&poi=&campaignid=15428034462&mkgroupid=133947154481&rlsatarget=pla-1262749490782&abcId=9300763&merchantid=112336994&gclid=CjwKCAiAlfqOBhAeEiwAYi43FwVlwlcobhCXLiIM81w249j2ujrNqMUadn_ws-vkOGyanTbAFZkbCBoCAREQAvD_BwE
  19. Excellent piece of work! Very well done.
  20. Ok, I managed to get a circle in Word at 4.75". I printed it out and it printed about 1/32nd small. Just under 4.75".
  21. I guess that's why I never use it. I use Xcell for spread sheets but that's about it. Thanks Dan. I'll give it a try.
  22. I will try that Dan. Thanks. Actually, I'm not familiar with Word. In fact my version is 2003. I just made a circle in Word but I have no idea how to size it. Can you illuminate me. Keep in mind that I'm old. And slow. And cantankerous. And.......
  23. Just to update, I have tried many things so far and this time I tried creating a circle at 4.5" in Inkscape and saving it as a .pdf file. I opened it in Acrobat and printed it but it still comes out 1/16" too small. So, with that said, I give up. If anybody can come up with a suggestion beyond what has already been tried, I'm open for most anything. Thanks again to all.
  24. Not really but working on it. Thanks to all.
