  1. Ok, I found what you referred to. I have no margins set so what should that setting be? I clicked on the box that says to resize page to selection but I have no idea what it does. If anything.
  2. No, thanks. I will check it out. Way too many settings between Inkscape and printer setup. Seems like there should be some form of standardization after all these years. Maybe I'm just to old to absorb all of them.
  3. Well, they must have just started offering it recently because I was trying to find it for a few folks who wanted it at one time and it was not available. Only used and they were scarce.
  4. We are a group on our own. Very exclusive.
  5. Charley, I was going to mention that you had the "perfect woman" but thought better of it. Oh well, now I'm in trouble for sure.
  6. Yeah, that's about where I'm at. I did find a good set of videos on youtube that explain Inkscape. I'm watching yet more of them. At some point, I'll know all the basics. Understanding them, probably not. My laser printer is Brother model MFC-9130CW. It prints really great. Not meant for photos though.
  7. I have done many of the projects in this book as you all know by now and it's been out of print for some time. I just found a used copy on eBay if anybody is interested. With shipping it's under $10. That's a great price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203104794546?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=203104794546&targetid=1262749490782&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9031544&poi=&campaignid=15428034462&mkgroupid=133947154481&rlsatarget=pla-1262749490782&abcId=9300763&merchantid=112336994&gclid=CjwKCAiAlfqOBhAeEiwAYi43FwVlwlcobhCXLiIM81w249j2ujrNqMUadn_ws-vkOGyanTbAFZkbCBoCAREQAvD_BwE
  8. Excellent piece of work! Very well done.
  9. Ok, I managed to get a circle in Word at 4.75". I printed it out and it printed about 1/32nd small. Just under 4.75".
  10. I guess that's why I never use it. I use Xcell for spread sheets but that's about it. Thanks Dan. I'll give it a try.
  11. I will try that Dan. Thanks. Actually, I'm not familiar with Word. In fact my version is 2003. I just made a circle in Word but I have no idea how to size it. Can you illuminate me. Keep in mind that I'm old. And slow. And cantankerous. And.......
  12. Just to update, I have tried many things so far and this time I tried creating a circle at 4.5" in Inkscape and saving it as a .pdf file. I opened it in Acrobat and printed it but it still comes out 1/16" too small. So, with that said, I give up. If anybody can come up with a suggestion beyond what has already been tried, I'm open for most anything. Thanks again to all.
  13. Not really but working on it. Thanks to all.
  14. So you like the separate eye pieces? I was thinking of the single large lens would be better. Can those eyepieces be "tuned" to each eye like binoculars?
  15. I tried changing my display settings. Two things happened. Actually only one thing happened. I hated the new setting and the printout remained the same. When I have the circle set at 4.5" my printout is 4 7/16".
  16. Dan, I played around with the stroke width and for me, the line "thickens" toward the inner part of the circle and doesn't make the outer diameter grow or shrink. But after viewing the Youtube that was posted above by Fab4, I played with that setting also and it seems to make sense. On my monitor if I set the zoom at 97% the circle is right on the money at 4.5" both on screen and printed. So that may be the determining factor. Time will tell.
  17. I was referring to your lighted head magnifiers Charley. There are so many that I'd like to see which one you have that you are happy with.
  18. You are over my head at this point but it forces me to learn more. Thanks Dan.
  19. Thanks. It played fine but I will watch it on my pc.
  20. Can you provide a link for that light Charley?
  21. I've the line thickness set a .5mm or. 05mm. Can't remember but it's thin. You may be onto something though. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
  22. Well, that didn't work. I added a 32nd of an inch to my pattern and printed it and it came out exact. Not sure what's going on.
  23. Thanks. I'm aware of that but I failed to check that this time. I'll give it another go.
