  1. I was thinking jelly beans. I love jelly beans. I just bought 7 pounds of them today on Amazon. I did go ahead and put a coat of Watcos on it and now I'll have to wait a few days before shooting the poly. It sure brought out the red in the red oak. Looks good though.
  2. Another source for Pegas blades that I have used with good service is Qtena.com. They are close to where I live so the service is fast but I'm not sure about their pricing at this time. I've switched my business to Denny Knappen.
  3. Hey Kevin, since you brought up Bushton's, when I bought that 226 Ultra, it came with 2 gross of #5 blades marked with the RBI brand name. Any idea who made them? Are they something that I might get some use out of?
  4. One of our members here is a retailer for Pegas. Artcraftersonline.com. You will get excellent service and the best pricing. He also will break down gross quantities and still give you gross pricing. Over $35 free shipping. You can't go wrong.
  5. I wish there was a way to delete this once I get my answer but maybe someone else will benefit from it at a later time. As most of you know, I'm working on an oak dried flower vase for a customer. She wants it "unstained" and I take that to mean "natural". So my question is, if I was to apply a coat of Watco Danish oil in natural and let it dry well is it ok to spray a couple of coats of Minwax polyurethane over the oil? Or would it be better to just apply the poly without the oil? I know the oil will make the grain more prominent so I was thinking of doing that first. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. But please, don't confuse me any more than I already am. Thanks all.
  6. It's an experimentation thing. I had to do it with the saw off. I placed a small block behind the saw blade and used a screwdriver to cycle the armature while watching to see what way the gap went. I actually removed the 3 screws until I found the best position.
  7. Have you tried adjusting the "agression" out of your new saw by loosening the motor and turning it to get the blade perpendicular to the table. It's a known fact that your saw is the same as the EX's and they have that adjustment.
  8. Those wireless controllers for Christmas lights are 15 amp rated and work great for turning stuff on & off. I use one for lots of things. They are cheap.
  9. That's great! Glad you did well.
  10. Ok, I gotta ask, what's a Longaberger basket? Never mind, I did a search and found their site. Nice stuff.
  11. We loved visiting Shipshewana while we were out on the road. Great place to just nose around and have a meal.
  12. Not sure whether you just made a typo here or in your search. It's a 571-5 and I found lots of parts diagrams for it. The brushes seem to be encased inside of a plastic housing that covers the motor and houses the electricals.
  13. I just got an order for this one. I'm charging $100, including materials. She will also pay the shipping and handling. Custom order so it took me some time to draw up the plans. A lot of time to sand it. The cutting part is the fun. The rest is just work.
  14. No, but now I will. Thanks.
  15. I'm totally ignorant here but I was wondering why your pieces don't have a "burned" edge look?
  16. I've looked in every way I can think of so mayby somebody here has an idea. Where can I find this pattern? curious kitten pattern by Kenny Hopkin
  17. scroll or band?
  18. Are you referring to the Pegas scroll saw or bandsaw? If scroll saw, read on. They haven't been out all that long so finding a used one is like that perverbial needle in a haystack. BUT, there are used Excaliburs floating around there. In fact there is a very lightly used GREEN one right near me with stand and they have just reduced it to $550. It's a 21" made in Taiwan. That's the same factory as the Pegas is made in. Where are you located?
  19. He's talking about a scroll saw.
  20. Check the brushes. They are probably worn out and one of them jammed the armature. Not a hard fix if you can find them. Or make some. I'll bet that's what is wrong.
  21. You'd have to put a pattern on each layer prior to stacking. Just make sure you have them all aligned. Or, do the names first and then stack and cut the rest of the pattern. I'm thinking it wouldn't be really tough to do.
  22. How about stack cutting everything but the names and do them individually.
  23. What forum?
  24. I envy your situation over ours.
  25. We bought ours new 10 years ago and are very happy with everything. But the furnace manufacturer really shorted the filtration on our unit. And there is really no way to add anything better. Ours is also a double wide. 1600 square feet, 3 bdrms 2 bths. The only way we could leave So Cal and then come back. We got lucky and found this park, a mile from the beach and there was the BEST lot in the park sitting vacant. Timing was perfect.
