  1. As most of us do. I'm in So. Cal. and speak a different English than you do in N. Carolina. Very different.
  2. Eric, your English is much better than my French. Your skills with the scroll saw are much better than the average beginner. What brand of saw do you have? Your work is great. Be sure to put the date on all the things you make. And please become a regular poster here on the Village.
  3. How does the clerk find it on the belt? You might get it for free. Just don't forget it's in the bag. I see a lot of problems here.
  4. I'm so sorry to have cost you money. How bad do you need that reindeer head? Lol.
  5. I buy my blades from either Artcraftersonline.com or Qtena.com. I only use Pegas blades. I buy most of my wood from Cherokee Wood Products because they specialize in scroll saw thin wood, they are close enough that I can drive to them, Chris who runs their online site is a great guy and I have found their pricing to be great. They will also do custom milling when needed. For everything else, it's either H/D or Amazon. Maybe Lowes.
  6. I ran across this fellow's channel the other day and even though it's all in German, I was able to decipher most of it. There is a setting to translate into English. https://www.youtube.com/user/FEINESausWUPPERTAL/featured He has some things that might interest most any scroller. And in some of his videos he has a Pegas too. I just watched how he managed to cut an 80 millimeter piece of wood on his Hegner by using some bandsaw blade material for a longer blade and open up the spread of his saw. Thinking outside of the box.
  7. I placed an order the other night, got an acknowledgement right away, got a thank you in the morning and the blades were sent out the same day. I'll probably have them tomorrow or Monday. Great service and great pricing. I love that Denny will split up gross packaging so that we can try different blades without having to buy too many. I wanted some MGT blades but in the smaller sizes so I ordered 3 dozen 2/0 and 2 dozen #1. Took advantage of his deal right now and got free shipping to boot. What more can you ask for?
  8. Our dear friends in Tennessee have a small farm and this is a painting of her donkey. I hope you can make a pattern from it. Or have someone here on the Village do it. Good luck. His name is Jackpot.
  9. The problem with the Hegner stands is they are welded. There is no way to do anything to them. My 2 Ex saws are on wooden stands that have 2 7" wheels on one end. I have them sitting on the foam. They have zero vibration problems. I am able to move them out onto my driveway and they still don't vibrate. I think they might be noisier out there though.
  10. The newest Hegner I bought, actually it's a 1991 single speed, is sitting on my concrete driveway. It made a terrible racket and vibrated horribly. I put it on a piece of that foam rubber. That helped a lot. Then I sort of slid the whole saw and rubber a bit until it settled on a flat spot and it quieted right down. I know that the Hegners are supposed to be bolted down but I have been watching a bunch of videos done by a German guy on Youtube. All in German but you can sort of figure out what he's talking about. He has a bunch of saws bolted to pieces of plywood and just set on his workbench. He doesn't seem to have any problems with vibration.. Every saw is different I think. Way back when I first came on board here I think you Kevin talked about placing a sand bag under the saw on it's lower bracing. That might also help. But, I'm not going to be doing that. I have enough back problems.
  11. Kevin, I had to check to see what they would show for me and it's the same deal.
  12. Welcome to the village Eric. Always happy to see new scrollers. We LOVE pictures. Post what you have done and if possible give credit to the pattern designer. Steve Good has a great website/blog and offers thousands of great free patterns. We look forward to seeing your work.
  13. Very nice stuff. I hope this gives you the relief you need. Best of luck.
  14. Ralph, my shop has a plywood floor sitting on 4x4's so it is springy. I bought 4 packages of the foam flooring from H/F. All my saws are sitting on that stuff and none of them have vibration problems. I thought the Hegner might but even it is good. Give it a try.
  15. Kevin, those were business related and you can write them of as expenses. A 5 year planned write off. I did the same with my tool trucks. If I were in the business as you are I'd do the same thing. My son just bought a new tool truck and has it on a 7 year write off. Depreciate is the word I was trying to think of.
  16. Plus one here! What Joe said.
  17. Kevin, I love high end tools but I hate high end prices. So I have high end scroll saws at a fraction of the retail cost.
  18. I saved all your rebuild info for when I do it. Thanks Kevin.
  19. I bottom feed and I pull down on the upper arm before tightening the clamp. Takes all the slack out before tensioning.
  20. I don't like doing too many of any one thing. I like to change things up a bit. New day, new challenge.
  21. I've got some slop in both upper and lower arms but once tensioned it goes away. Maybe let the saw just run for a while and see if warming everything up helps.
  22. I've been using a lot of the Aleene's tacky glue. I used to mow her lawn when I was 16-17. She had a great business but was not a nice person. Started out in a little store in Temple City, Ca.
  23. Just wait guys. Just wait. 2022 is soon upon us.
  24. Name me something that hasn't gone up in price/cost. I can't find anything.
  25. I don't think so. I'm still a novice. I just wish there was a "finishing" clinic that I could attend. Nothing ever comes out the way I envision it.
