  1. Thanks for the kind words! Then I was asked to make the box I wasn't sure about it. But said I would give it a try. My Grandad was a very good furniture carpenter and always said to build as strong as you can. Would nail, glue an screw. I have used 80 screws, 2 bottles of glue and 40 nails. Grandad would be proud ðŸ˜
  2. Made a 4H show box for a girl that shows horses. Just had to include a little scroll saw work LOL.
  3. I started out on the EX 21 and didn't know top from bottom. (self taught) I seen very fast that it was easier to see the hole on top of board than looking under and trying to see a small hole. I started looking under the saw to see the clamp but made myself learn to FEEL were the clamp and blade is. Now don't even think about it, takes about 4 sec to change holes. Like someone said if you can tie your shoes without looking you can clamp a blade without looking.
  4. Thanks for the help but I couldn't get it to work. All I have is a image.
  5. If you see a type of font you would like to use but don't know what it is called is there a way to find out what it is without scrolling thru 1000s of pictures of different fonts?
  6. 2 part apoxy with saw tooth hanger has never failed me.
  7. As for me I like the wide footprint of the stand. I rest my foot on the bar that goes across the front and my other foot is on the power switch.
  8. Looks to me if you have dust on floor and on the saw there is dust in the air also. I think I would hook up a dust collection system also. Just my 2 cents worth.
  9. Make some sawdust useing same wood than mix with glue. Use a credit card to smooth. When dry sand.
  10. Baby coke bottles work for me. Even upside down
  11. Wife won't go into my shop says it gives her the willies 😜
  12. I sale alot of Indiana & Ohio. I am on boarder of the two which helps.
  13. Drill press with a mime chuck
  14. Were is his web address?
  15. Very nice display case also!
  16. Looks like the tape didn't stick to the pattern. Did you smooth the tape with hand or some other type of rower?
  17. If you are asking which FD blades my main ones I use are the UR #3 and #5
  18. I go to staples with no problem. One time I asked for it to be copied in red ink was told she said couldn't do it. I got a manger she showed her how to do it. Sometimes you have to bypass the kids and go to the boss 😎
  19. Just remember a fret is a fret no matter the pattern. Sometimes you just have to go a little slower. Nice job! Don't know till you try.
  20. Thanks for getting back to me! Know what you mean about forgetting things. I was being to think my eyes had gone away 🙀
  21. Serial # 29657, blade holders are square. Used a mirror to look under the arm and there is no set screw there. The back tension knob is set per the chart on the saw. Using a #3 with the knob set at 12:30. When I place the front tension lever back the blade is in proper tension (ping) but as you scroll the arm will work up. As I have said I just got this saw at a good price to use as a backup for my EX21. So I haven't used the hawk very much. I am a top feeder and haven't taken the time to get the hang of bottom feeding.
  22. I looked at my saw and it doesn't have a set screw like Rolf shows in his picture. In that location is soild metal. Thinking this 220 is a older saw before an update?
  23. Usually cut down the middle of the line unless like said by others makes area to thin. I start in middle of pattern & get smallest cut first. Most of the time I cut clockwise
  24. Thanks for the info! Didn't think it would be anything to bad.
  25. The tension arm won't stay down on my hawk 220vs.. It will work up as it is running is this normal? I have only used it a short time. To use to the EX top feeding. Only paid $125 for the saw to be a backup to my EX21 so can put some money in it. Thanks
