  1. Around here 220 VS models go for $400-600. IF, (big if) it is a variable speed $350 is not too bad. They RBI - Bushton have a good rep.
  2. Sometimes the best additions are subtractions.
  3. Hi Jim and welcome. I am Jim also from Jackson over in the SE corner of the state. Jim
  4. Great job! One of my grandsons just finished boot camp for the Marines at Pendleton. Your pattern is on my to do list. Thanks for posting it! I agree, cutting for Intarsia can be easy. Sanding is the part I could do without.
  5. I have been scrolling in my basement since I started, four or 5 years ago. I used the box fan with furnace filter for most of that time. Once I started doing some Intarsia, I added a real dust collector. Than I added a air filter too.
  6. I have a bin of hardware that has been waiting to be sorted for about 25 years. Maybe someday.
  7. OfficeMax is about $0.08 per sheet of 11X17" where I go. I just copied really large Intarsia patterns for the Eagle I just did. Went to the local print/graphics place and they charged me $1.75 a sheet!
  8. its probably something in your antivirus or other security settings.
  9. I think I am wearing out!
  10. My Dewalt is about 4" higher in the back too. Works for me.
  11. Welcome for Jackson, Wis. is the southeastern part of the state. This is one of the best places to learn and share in a friendly group.
  12. Very nicely done. Great pattern too. I don't buy many patterns, but would buy that one in a heartbeat.
  13. Very nice work. what kind of wood is it?
  14. The pictures don't show it, but there are a couple of right angle turns for the air to exit the enclosure that are about a foot by 2 feet. Seems to work fine and I may experiment with reducing that. So far, the motor runs pretty cool.
  15. The spec's on the top bag says 2 microns. It does seem to be making a difference.
  16. Since I work in my basement, I needed to upgrade from the box fan with furnace filter method of dust control. Then I found out sanding for Intarsia REALLY creates a lot of dust. Saved up and bought a 1HP Delta DC. I am still working the piping but it is functional for what I need for now. The first problem - noise. The basement is unfinished and the wife really does not want to listen to the beast. Plus we live in a side-by-side two family no less. Possible big problem with neighbors. So we built this "out house" to try and limit the sound level. The original plan was to line it with insulation and maybe a drywall barrier. For now, I just lined some of it with carpet scraps. It has a kind of baffle on the side to balance the air and remove the heat. The improvement is very good. Last week I turned it off and grabbed a vac to clean my bench and I wife wanted to know what all the loud noise was. Also, neighbors say they can't here a thing. If I could have a do-over I would make it bigger. Changing bags etc. is harder than it should be. Jim
  17. This was a quick one to cut. Its a Steve Good pattern that I cut from the last of the WR Cedar I had. For those of you who do craft fairs, I think this would be a good seller.
  18. Wait until you actually try to hook up the big dust collector; fittings, connectors, hoses, piping and hangers are in your future.
  19. I am glad I scroll in the basement. I just finished using the planer in my un-heated garage. Its 11 degrees in there today.
  20. Has anyone tried the new lines of blades yet? I see that Scrolleronline.com has Shark tooth brand and Judy Gale Roberts has On-Liine brand. I wonder how they compare the Flying Dutchman or Olson. Anyone care to comment?
  21. I just looked at their older (Summer/Fall 2016) catalog and the address is Spirit Lake, ID. also. This move is probably not new?
  22. $52 for a 5x5 sheet from my local hardwood dealer. Its $27 for 1/4" 5x5. Maybe the guy on the phone read the list wrong?
  23. You already have more tools than I do.
  24. Standard 5" blades are all I have ever used in my Dewalt. They work just fine.
  25. That is one to treasure! Well done!
