  1. Just another reason for the "AMAZING KEVIN" name! NEAT! One of my favorite all time vehicles was the 49-51 Merc 2 door sedans. But it should have had a 427 Ford ENGINE or a 430 Mercury engine transplant! I know chev is easier and cheaper, still sad though!
  2. Nice Job KEVIN! The AMAZING!
  3. You can cut a vehicle for me anytime! GREAT WORK! I have loved 49-59 Mercurys since they were new! People I knew had the two door like that with a yellow and black leather interior!
  4. A word of advice-- put in 3 times as many circuits as you think you need. (Some of them 220ifpossible-- easier and cheaper now than tearing things up to add them) Also put some outlets in the ceiling-- they can be used more than you think; especially if they have convenient wall switches. Looking good - One other thing--make it fit you--the way you want it! I had ceiling outlets in my ND shop and could move lights around easily for the different projects. I had several 4 ft FL-- CHEAP-- ones that hung on small chains from hooks and were very handy and easy to move.
  5. A good choice of the awards!
  6. I wish you good luck with that adventure!
  7. The only thing I do NOT LIKE about my Skill is the X shape of the hold down holes in the table. My jigs had all been made for just horizontal slots. Now I have had to adapt and re-make for the X.
  8. BEE CAREFUL! You are inviting bugs into your house! They are cute!
  9. Neat--Could easily hang in a dealership!
  10. Big Hello from the west! This is quite a collection. A lot of good advice some B.S. and a lot of fun. Actually any question, someone here has a good answer for. A lot of good advice and even some ribbing. The trick of transparent packing tape to use a marker for the patterns on is a good one. It lubricates and helps hide minor errors at the same time. Make your sawstation fit you! Do projects you like and have fun! Do NOt worry about small errors-- everyone makes some!
  11. Way past my patience levels! Nice work.
  12. Hi, From the west! You will find that "sanity" here may be a liability; and you will be lonely if you possess that "trait??" Many of these fine people actually are good at what they do. I claim (so far) the oldest working/original owner scrollsaw. A 1952 Craftsman that I bought new in 1953. There dumb answers, not QUESTIONS! We all have done very stupid things and had to throw some sacrificial projects "shop gods". Do not worry when it happens. Any help here someone will be able to give. I buy clear packing tape and use it over almost every pattern (sometimes I use marker and put the pattern on the tape. It comes off easy and acts a blade lubricant at the same time. Also hides minor "line misses". Also make sure your "saw-station(nest) is very comfortable. Good seat-chair light -- Music(if so inclined ) -- wear the safety equipment suitable to the job. etc/.. There are many ways to make the saw-station more yours--SO DO IT! Amazing Kevin is called "amazing "for good reasons he does marvelous work and has very good advice! DO not be afraid to ask for patterns! We do love to see(COPY) other peoples projects!
  13. Yeh, a learning curve for sure! I do like the expanding screen for close ups! I am old enough to remember --have used kerosene lanterns as a mina light source, so I have to learn new things.
  14. Hey trains are fun! The mice are very neat!!! I also make templates for things I intend to repeat; then only sometimes use them. Seems I continually change the design some!
  15. A whole lot of HOLES-- I know bad pun!!--Hey I have to have one talent. Great job and way past my patience levels.
  16. Very Interesting! Neat work!
  17. Hi, I am wondering if anyone has tried to use --iron-on transfers on wood? I may have a custom logo to put on some commissioned products and am wondering if that is a good option? Appreciate any help and other ideas as well! Thanks all.
  18. Extremely well done!' Still needs the popcorn though!
  19. Hi, You will love the saw-- The light was junk but the rest is fine. I have had my 788 about 3-1/2 years or so now. I have used it very hard. I cut 2 by 4 and have made a bunch of Hickory 3/4 name plates. Good saw. Mine has had no adjustment issues other than setting the allen screws that keep blade lined up even with each other. Locktite solved that issue; the allen screws had been moving and it took a while to figure the off side cuts. Pilot error!
  20. Yes, very nice!

    Pope Francis

Great picture of what ;so far, seems to be a very great man! Anyone will be proud to display that one.
  22. If you search the topic on this forum; there is a lot of information on adjustments for the 788.
  23. The two covered some basics! Rule # 3 Make the saw-station comfortable for you-- lights --chair-- music-- whatever it takes to make you want to spend time there RULE that outweighs all other RULES MKAE things YOU LIKE-- and when it PLEASES YOU That is all that matters. Advice--into the waste area mistakes--- are easy to fix! Into the piece are harder-- but, most are still manageable. You are going to throw some away because they are that bad! EVERYPONE else has also! Also what works well for me --- may be not right at all for you. Do not be afraid to try things-- start with cheap wood projects first. The clear packing tape over the wood before putting pattern on can hide a lot of slight errors-- Also That tape trick lubricates the blade. I use a paste wax on all the machine tables to just ease things and prevent rust. ASK QUESTIONS``````` We have among this group made about every screw--up and even know how to avoid/repair a large quantity of them. Good ;luck and we like to see new projects.
  24. Full it will not be "cheep". NEat- Nice work.
  25. Another fine rendition of a disappearing American icon! Something I had written about 15 years ago follows: Abandoned Farm Yard Lonely, decaying, weedy and sad The old grainery with gaping holes in it's side Graying- doors gone- starting to sag- and sway Shingles missing- some boards flopping in the wind Becoming home to a wild menagerie Not full- red- straight and proud The days left of it standing seem short indeed The barn seemed to fair a little better Roof and sides looking forlorn But with doors intact still standing square and straight Two metal cupola standing atop a fine roof line A tree on the end growing up to close A few more years of pride left, though the splendor is gone That tree will take that corner out eventually The house long since dead and gone Yard shed's condition between the grainery's and the barn's The old well pump seems to be fairing the best I wonder what stories the buildings could tell I am sure some would be happy and glad, some strange, sad? An abandoned farm yard always leaves me melancholy Missing the American Small Farm A vanishing part of our heritage A sad reminder of the days of real neighbors We must all remember everyone is our sister or brother The whole world is all dependent together
