  1. Hey Jim. I use mainly FD and Olson blades. As much as I like FD blades, I have never had any luck with their blades under a # 1. I have tried The scroll reverse # 2/0 and the UR # 2/0 and I can’t get them to track. So, when I need a 2/0 blade, I go back to Olsons.
  2. So sorry To here that Larry. It must be hard for you and your family for this to happen to such a young person. My condolences.
  3. What I think is funny is a lot of folks won’t list their location in their profile but will mark their location on the members map.
  4. Nice work Denny!
  5. Beautiful work Ron!
  6. You and Brenda make a good team Ralph!
  7. First thing is welcome to the forum Justin! Puzzles are always a great gift, but not typically appropriate for children under 3. The small pieces will end up in their mouths and become a chocking hazard. As far as a finish, any product sold in North America as a finish will be child safe once it cures. Some folks use products that are not designed as a finish such as lemon oil and orange oil. These are cleaners and polishes and are not child safe. So what would be a good finish for children’s puzzles? Polyurethane, lacquer or shellac would be fine.
  8. I guess that’s why we never wish you a happy birthday Paul!
  9. Edward, I’m like you, I have never used a foot switch because of the way I sit. The DeWALT switch is not sealed. Dust gets into it and fouls up the contacts. Like was mentioned, most folks use a foot switch, but for you and me, we have to deal with the switch. You will not find the switch at the Hardware store or any store. you will have to order it from DeWALT or wherever you order parts from. That being said, I have always repaired my switch’s. If you are a handy kind of guy, you can do it too. Let me know what you want to do, and I’ll walk you through it.
  10. I think you are over thinking this. I don’t see it as an issue. The piece either goes this way or that way.
  11. And while your at it, give your birthdate so we can wish you a happy birthday on that day.
  12. 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. To remove the pattern, I use either a heat gun or I spritz the pattern with mineral spirits to loosen it. If the pattern has been on the wood for a long time and doesn’t want to come off with the heat gun, the mineral spirits will do the trick.
  13. I don’t have that problem because I don’t use painters tape. It to much work having to remove all those little bits of tape left on the board. I apply the pattern directly to the wood. Then I apply clear packing tape on top of the pattern.
  14. That’s some very fine cutting Matt!

  24. I do two shows a year, one in October and a two day show in November. And I just started selling on Etsy. I sell all kinds of scroll saw work. I guess my best all time sellers are the compound cut mini bird houses, Christmas ornaments, the Sea life puzzle. The Angel Puzzle and the Nativity puzzle.
