  1. Great looking bowl. The finish is especially nice. Good job!
  2. My air hose cracked at the junction with the machine. I was able to remove that section and press the next section onto the fitting. I had to push pretty hard, but it's worked ok since.
  3. I like that design, it would look good on any desk.
  4. Not really anything to brag about, but I'm finally able to work in the shop after spending most of the summer recovering from neck surgery. My daughter sent me a picture of this and asked me to make for her to give to her police officer husband. I recognized it as a Sue Mey pattern and purchased it. A fun cut from cherry and oak. Nice to be able to generate some sawdust again.
  5. A very realistic portrait. Great job!
  6. Excellent work. As usual.
  7. It may be time to advertise on Craig's List for a new landlady.
  8. Once again, awesome work.
  9. Kevin, you are a busy boy.
  10. I like that a lot. The contrasting wood really sets it off.
  11. Go for it buddy. Remember, faint heart never won fair maid. Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Etc, etc, etc. Great looking work.
  12. Hi Norma, welcome to the club. You're gonna find plenty of conversations to join. The people in this forum are not only exceptionally talented, but also very friendly and accommodating. I have learned much from their expertise. As mentioned above, pictures are always welcome. I'm especially interested in your shop. Your description of it was intriguing. Again, welcome. Jim
  13. I too use blue painter's tape on most of my projects. One exception is when I'm cutting 1/4" plywood. I have found that peeling the tape off will sometimes pull the top layer of plywood off with it. For those occasions I apply the pattern directly to the wood with spray adhesive and remove it with mineral spirits.
  14. Beautiful piece of art.
  15. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I bought the light when I bought the saw without really knowing anything about the design. It works fine and stays in place. I do agree about the bulbs. I've been through 4 in 3 years, and they do get hot. Other than that, I'm happy with it.
  16. Welcome to the village. You'll find lots of excellent tips and advice here. Can't wait to see some of your work. Jim
  17. Once again Kevin, job well done!
  18. I use the 3/4 inch on my saw. It's the biggest the saw will take and what was recommended for resawing. Jim
  19. I does sound like you've managed to wear out that saw. Just curious, how long have you had it?
  20. My guess would be Walt Longmire.
  21. I'm pretty sure my wife is soon going to ban me from this site. I follow the threads and see the fancy new tools people are getting, and soon I'm headed for the hardware store. The first picture is of my "redneck" bench top sander. Not great, but functional. The second picture is my bench top sander after reading the posts on this site. I think the next addition to my shop will be a bed, because I'm pretty sure it's where I'll be sleeping. By the way, the Ridgid is an awesome machine. Jim.
  22. I have two, both Ridgid. They are similar (16 gallon) although slightly different in design. The work well and do what I need them to do. The down side is they are noisy and since I use one of them for dust collection, I have to clean the filter often. These seem to be comparable to many others on the market in that price range.
  23. you're gonna need a bigger garage to store all your classic cars.
  24. that is an awesome looking piece of work. This will make some child very happy. Job well done!
  25. Just load it up with tools and start sawing!. The purpose of a shop is to occupy your creative juices for the rest of your life. Enjoy!
