  1. According to Wikipedia, DeWalt moved all manufacturing to Mexico and China in 2002.
  2. I don't know if this is the same problem, but I find on occasion my arm won't lift quite high enough to get to the lifter. I have found that if I tap the foot switch, it moves the mechanism just enough to allow it to raise up. Don't know why it happens or why this works.
  3. Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to pick the brains of some awesome scrollers. And they love to share. Looking forward to seeing some of your projects along with your gear. Jim
  4. Very nice work, although I must confess that when I saw the title of the post I thought of fried pickles and cold beer, oh yeah and cute waitresses.
  5. Well, I think you're pretty brave for attempting it. Nothing ventured nothing gained. The top piece looked great.
  6. I just received my Grizzly Tools sale catalog. They are advertising a DeWalt DW788 for $439.00 plus shipping.
  7. I thought I had a bunch until I read this thread. I have 305 in two folders. What a lightweight.
  8. I have two folders on my computer desktop. One is to store Inkscape patterns and the other is for all other pattern formats. Somehow though I always end up with a pile of papers in my shop of patterns I printed out with the best intentions of cutting them, but never got around to it. About once every 6 months I cull the pile.
  9. I use 3M spray adhesive #77. Sticks well and removes with mineral spirits. Lately I've been attaching it to blue painters tape which makes removal much easier and less messy.
  10. Beautiful job Dennis. Love the detail and contrasting wood.
  11. Yeah, that doesn't look like a good day, it looks like a great day. Beautiful work.
  12. Awesome job. Well done.
  13. I really like that elephant. Almost enough to make me vote republican. Oops, not quite. Those are some excellent cuttings, thanks for sharing.
  14. I've been going through scroll saw withdrawals for about a month and a half, since I pinched a nerve in my neck which kinda disabled my right arm. Through the wonders of physical therapy I'm slowly improving enough to return to normal activities. Not really worth bragging about, but here is a little project I was able to knock out. Found the pattern on Scroll Saw Forum.
  15. You'll never regret this decision.
  16. Great work Dan. I have two sons living in the Minneapolis area. They alway say they have two favorite teams. The Vikings, and whoever is playing the Packers. Thanks for sharing. Jim.
  17. I have resisted adding this to my saw, primarily because I've read from others that sometimes they will strip the threads. Now that the arthritis in my hands is becoming more pronounced, I'm thinking this might be a good idea.
  18. Welcome to the site. This is a place full of all levels of scrollers. Everyone here is friendly and of a sharing manner. Great place to hang out. Hope to see some pictures of your work. Jim
  19. Great piece of work. Takes me back to my youth. My Dad and I spent days and holidays hunting ducks. One of my fondest memories.
  20. I guess I have to hate you. I did the same pattern and I only want yours. Great job!
  21. Great looking work!
  22. This is so sad. I wonder what the person is thinking. If they had taken a minimal amount of time and contacted the designers, I bet most would be fine with their patterns being posted on his web site, as long as proper credit was given. Instead the entire community is riled up and this person comes across looking like a dope. Too bad. Jim
  23. Welcome to the forum Onder. Always glad to meet new people and learn new tricks. I'm Jim from Montana. Jim
  24. That's too bad and so unnecessary. I wonder what recourse there is, if any?
  25. I was able to get registered and confirmed with no problem. Not much activity on the site other than quite a few patterns uploaded by the administrator.
