  1. Glad you liked New Zealand Frank. It is a beautiful country but a lot of things are really expensive here. Some of that is due to our remoteness but a lot of it is lack of competition. Rob
  2. We don't have Amazon in NZ Dan and unfortunately Amazon.com will not ship that here. So whoever does import it can charge what they like. Oh well, back to my reclaimed rimu! Rob
  3. Shipping is from USA Merlin. Rob
  4. Well I finally found some Baltic Birch plywood here in New Zealand..... Maybe solid gold would be cheaper? Rob
  5. Beautiful frames Jay but stunning cuts too! Lovely work. Rob
  6. I saw that on Instagram Roberta. Great cutting and such an original idea for the frame. I would love to see it in person. Rob
  7. Sorry to hear that Scott. We have all had bad days or days when everyone really likes your product but just will not buy anything. It gets very disheartening, particularly if you then see them buy some mass produced tat from a neighbours stall. I had a couple of poor events in January (still July in Northern Hemisphere terms) and decided to give the markets a break for a while. Then I heard of another new market where stalls were free while they tried to build a following. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I went today for the first time. Very small low key event with only 19 stalls but had a really good and profitable day. Unfortunately there is only one more before things shut down for the winter but that gives me time to build inventory for next year. Chalk it up to experience and move on. The Iggy world domination plan MUST NOT FAIL! Rob
  8. Superb pattern and cut. How big is it? Rob
  9. Yes. I will dip this in Danish oil and apply a little wax. Rob
  10. Very pleased with it Paul. It is so accurate, the blade goes where you point it and it can stop and turn on a dime. Most importantly it is so simple and well made that I am confident it will last for ages. I love my Delta Q3 and will cut something on it soon just so I don't lose the feel for it but a backup saw seems like an unnecessary luxury now I have the Hegner. Rob
  11. Oops, I take it all back. I just checked and my quick clamp and it does indeed have a rotating tip. The lower blade clamp does not but the blade is not clamped by the screw in the bottom clamp anyway. Sorry for my mistake. Rob
  12. First compound cut on my Hegner. Definitely easier than my Delta Q3 because there is so much less blade travel. Pattern is from Steve Good. Rob
  13. Hi Al, I also have a Hegner which is only three years old but the quick clamp does not have a rotating tip on the set screw. I don't think it is meant to have one. I agree it would be nice if it did. Would be cool if you could find a suitable replacement. Keep me posted. Rob
  14. Thanks Dick. I'm not sure where I got this pattern. Probably from here but I'm pretty certain the font is Birds of Paradise. Rob
  15. This plaque is now sold. I'll be glad to see the back of it to be honest. The lady who bought it also wants one of my Tui plaques but as a coat rack so it needs to be bigger and thicker. Fortunately I have a suitable piece of rimu from the side panel of a kitchen drawer unit that should fit the bill. Rob
  16. Thanks for the tutorial Wayne. The bracelets are beautiful and sell well I'm sure. Rob
  17. Great job Monti. I came across Fiona a while back. She does some very original stuff. Rob
  18. Those should sell well Monti. Very nice. Rob
  19. Very clean beautiful cut. Rob
  20. Wow, some serious scrolling there Bob. I didn't know about the difference between the catholic and protestant versions. Very interesting. I hope you stack cut these? One day I'll try something as detailed as this but given my recent breakage, I'll wait a while. Hats off to you sir, Rob
  21. And the winner is ....Dan. Well done for spotting the "B" the other breaks are in the frame itself and one of the "o"s. I'll buy you a beer next time I see you. Rob
  22. This is the plaque I dropped and broke yesterday. If you look really closely you can see the break but in general I think I got away with it. I will sell this one a little cheaper and explain it has been repaired. Rimu from the side panel of a drawer box finished with tung oil and beeswax. Thanks for looking. Rob
  23. Very cute. I assume these are plectrum sized? Love the inlay too. That is something I have to try now I have my Hegner. Rob
  24. Gluing the backer on the front is a classic. I have yet to do that but there is still time. Rob
  25. Something slightly more Anglo-Saxon TBH Roly.... Rob
