  1. Oooh! I remember your paddling Moose Jay. Looking forward to seeing them again. Rob
  2. Fantastic pieces. The cowboy is my favourite. Rob
  3. Sorry to hear that Merlin. Get well soon. Rob
  4. Very nice Dan. I made the 9mm Beretta one for my son. I might have to make that one too. Rob.
  5. I recently posted this Tui plaque and mentioned that I had kept the waste portion since I had got it out in one piece. Here it is, with a couple of small bits removed, sprayed matt black and surface mounted in relief on another piece of rimu. The original cutting has already sold so let's hope this one does too. Happy New Year everyone! Rob
  6. Stupendous work Roly. What an heirloom. Rob
  7. I start with a rough scotch... You are a man after my own heart Dan! Though personally I prefer Irish Whiskey... Rob
  8. I would buy that in a heartbeat. I have a feeling that come Sunday you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face for a week! Rob
  9. Good on ya Dave and great cut as always. Rob
  10. Very nice, I like the font. Lettering is one of the hardest things to scroll and you did a great job. Rob
  11. That's an interesting idea Jerry. I have always applied glue with a small brush but it can be difficult to cover everywhere before the glue starts to dry. I will have to try your method. Thanks for sharing. Rob
  12. Hi Ray, I have one of those and it is now my only saw. I bought a second hand Type 1 DW788 which is rare as hen's teeth here in NZ but it died on me after three months. The Q3 keeps on going. I did break the tension lever but luckily was still able to get a spare although shipping from the US was outrageous. From the look of the blade clamps I would say that is one of the earlier Type 1 machines. At that price , I think it is a bargain but being a "C" arm saw, the cut is very aggressive. Makes the DW788 look like a pussy cat. Wrong voltage for me and far too far away, otherwise I would have it! Rob

    Puzzles.

Awesome Marge! The bunny is cute but I like the ferret too! Rob
  14. Really love that light. Such a pity you couldn't stack cut but your perseverance paid off. It is an exceptional piece. As for your new workshop well let's just say I have turned a very fetching shade of green, Rob
  15. Very pretty sleigh. Love the contrast too. Rob
  16. Great cutting of the Kray's Frank but not sure I'd want them on my wall! Rob
  17. Beautiful cutting Dan. Lovely piece of oak too. Rob
  18. I'll send you the pattern Merlin. Rob
  19. Great cuttings Jim and the frames set them off a treat! Rob
  20. Great work as always Kevin. Haven't seen that Santa before but it's very good. Rob
  21. I missed your original post but chuffing heck! How small is that reindeer? Stupendous! Rob OK, I just saw the original post which mentions the size of the reindeer. Wow, just wow. My mind is well and truly boggled. Awesome. Rob

    Names

Tricky names to combine but you nailed it. That really works. Love the wood too. Rob
  23. The man who bought ten items at my last indoor craft fair tracked me down at my local outdoor twilight market last night. He had bought one of my NZ hearts and wanted another two but with NZ centred in the heart. So here they are, cut from rimu a friend of mine saved from a builders firewood pile from a cottage renovation. Finished with tung oil and beeswax. I had to enlarge the heart in order to centre the cut out and personally I think I prefer my original version but the customer is always right they say. Which do you prefer? Rob
  24. Very nice! Excellent work and beautiful choice of timber too. Rob
  25. Top of the bill no less! Congratulations Iggy, well deserved. Rob
