    Peace Nativity

Interesting Dan, The last one I made sold quickly so maybe I should do another couple like you! Rob
  4. Peace Nativity cut from reclaimed rimu and finished with oil and beeswax. Pattern by Birchbark, thanks Russell. This is the second time I have cut this one. I really like it. Rob

    Reaper

Incredible pieces and the Viking is beautifully painted. It really works. Very well done, Rob

    Road King

Awesome cutting. Your customer will love that. Rob
  7. Dave, You might want to get your eyes checked, I can't see anything wrong with that. Lovely job and well up to your usual high standard! Rob

    Help

Looks good Merlin. I know what you mean about the MDF but I reckoned it wouldn't be in the cake for more than a minute or two so didn't worry about it. Rob
  9. The handles are a great idea Jerry. I usually leave the outside edge until last but it is always a bit tense knowing you can stuff up an otherwise completed piece at the last minute. Still, that's scrolling I suppose! Rob
  10. Very nice. Great cutting and I love the contrast with the walnut base. Rob
  11. Great work. Careful though, the bug will start to bite! Rob

    Help

Hey Merlin, I made one recently using some melamine faced MDF that came from my daughters old Ikea bed. About 5-6mm thick (quarter inch approx). I didn't need any finish as it was already white on one side and blue on the other. Rob
  13. Lots of work in that from both of you but a great result. Very nice, Rob
  14. I dilute food colouring 50/50 with methylated spirits (denatured alcohol for you I think). It flows on quickly, dries rapidly and I have not noticed it fading. Don't know if it is better than your method but would be easy to test on some scrap. Rob
  15. Same age as me Iggy . I have signed up for my first outdoor event at a local park in a couple of weeks time. It is popular with dog walkers so I have cut a dozen of the non-puzzles which I hope will go well alongside my other items. Thanks for sharing your experiences over the last year or so, it has been interesting to follow and very encouraging. If I do half as well as you I will be pleased. Rob

    todays show

Well done Ike and good luck for the next one. Rob
  17. Very nice. I have cut that one myself but only out of ply. It looks so much better in padauk! Rob
  18. Good find Wayne. Like you I use reclaimed wood almost exclusively. I get a real kick out of making something out of firewood/landfill. Rob
  19. That's a lovely cross Delvaughn. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Garapa too. My local DIY shed has started stocking decking made from Garapa and also Purpleheart. I bought an offcut of purpleheart and have turned a pen from it but I don't think I will bother with the Garapa after hearing of your experience. Rob
  20. Welcome Steve, it's nice to see a few more Brits on the village. I briefly had a Diamond saw too but unfortunately got rid of it as we were short of space in our shipping container when emigrating to NZ. Wish I still had it though. Rob
  21. Those are a great idea. Very nicely done, they look fantastic. Rob
  22. Well done. Lovely cut and nice to see these hand drawn patterns enjoying a revival. Rob
  23. Very nice Denny. I love a good trivet but had missed that pattern. It is now on my cut list. Thanks for posting! Rob
  24. And that is how the empire started! Awesome. All the best, Rob
  25. That's really interesting seeing the difference between then and now. Your set up certainly looks more professional now! Rob
