I quite fancy a pedal or treadle machine for craft shows etc.
Here is a video of what looks to be an identical machine in action. https://youtu.be/AY2h_JWPtao

This is the first cross I have cut and my first time cutting oak. I expected it to be hard as nails but found it actually cut quite easily. The finish is simply the original lacquered finish from the reclaimed oak shelf I used.
Thanks to Birchbark for the great pattern.
Ooh Marg, that's too hot for me! Fortunately we rarely get above 28C here (82F approx) but it has been a good summer. Certainly a great improvement over the UK.

Welcome to the forum Ninuninu. You did a great job on those cuttings. We have another member, Helmut, based in Germany who also works with a manual fret saw.

We are collecting our new Labrador puppy this weekend so in the meantime I cut these from offcuts.
I will make this one into a keyring in due course.

My pillar drill takes a 1mm bit (7/64 approx) bit with no problem but I remember Merlin posting a link to these bits on Amazon the last time this was discussed. I have not tried them personally.
