  1. Really well cut Denny. I haven't seen the standing ones before but can see them being even more popular. I might have to get those patterns, Rob

    Irises plaque

Thanks everyone. I get all of my rimu from the recycling centre at the council waste tip. Usually it is drawer sides or cabinet carcases but this piece was a bit of rough sawn tongue and groove that someone gave me. It cleaned up nicely with a hand plane but was only useful for something small. I wanted to give the flowers a little colour but staining a scrap with food colouring didn't look great so I decided on a coloured backer instead. Rob
  3. Those are great Jim. Simple design but really effective. Very clever. Rob
  4. Great job there WolfyPete. Well done. Rob
  5. @Len I didn't keep a note of them but I think the surname Brougham is URW Bookman and the first names are Ave Fedan. Rob
  6. Great stand Iggy. I wish you continued success with your sales. Rob
  7. Welcome to the village Neil. It's great to see a few more Brits on here. Rob (Ex Bedfordshire)
  8. I recently finished this plaque for my nieces wedding. Snowdrop Trivet and finally a business card holder for my upcoming craft fair. Pattern is by Steve Good. All cut from reclaimed rimu as usual and finished with BLO. Rob
  9. I cut this little plaque from reclaimed rimu with a painted mdf backer. I'm not sure where I found the pattern. It is 20cm x 7cm or 8" x 3" approx. Rob
  10. Great to see the site back up and running again. I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms! Thanks to Travis for all your hard work and dedication to this community. It is much appreciated. Rob

    Deer and Doe

Well I finally got around to putting a backer on it and agree that it is better. I was tempted to try multiple colours but in the end decided on simply black. Rob
  12. Great news Iggy. I have my first stall coming up in a couple of weeks at a local Makers Market. I was planning on having a little flip album of photos so people could see the saw and maybe some previous work etc but I like the idea of having a few blades to show them too. I'll have the added advantage of being able to boast that I have to import them from America too! Rob
  13. Very nice. May I ask what the fonts are? Rob
  14. Great sign Roly. Would be very popular round here I reckon. Rob
  15. Sorry John! I just assumed you were Larry due to the post above mine. Rob
  16. I enjoyed these too Larry. Thanks for taking the time to do them. I bought a second hand Diamond saw on Ebay while still in the UK but had to sell it to save space in our container when we emigrated to New Zealand. I have been kicking myself ever since! Rob

    Trivet

I knew a trivet would lure him out of hiding. Welcome back Bobscroll ! Rob
  18. Those are great Peter and for such a great charity too. Rob
  19. Beautiful cut. Lot's of work in that one. Rob
  20. Love the horse Kevin. Great sign all round. Rob
  21. Those are all great. My favourite is the Sioux hunter though. What a lovely piece of timber. Rob
  22. Very nice. Great finish. I reckon SWMBO is right though, he does need a chum or two. Rob
  23. Deer and doe cut from reclaimed rimu and finished with BLO and beeswax. Pattern by Gayle from Scroller's Cafe. I can't decide if this would be better with a backer or not. What do you think? Rob
  24. Those are great. I might have to look for that pattern for my son's team. Rob
  25. Wow Dave, that inlay is tighter than a gnat's chuff. Love the box with drawers, Rob
