  1. Just wanted to share with everyone that after a few decades of scrolling and trying to find a setup that felt "right" to me, I think I've finally found it. The 16" King will be going to my daughter in October as she's interested in scrolling, and will be replaced with a 21". Though about the 30" but I really don't need anything that big. Still love my P-20!
  2. Looks Great!
  3. Interesting project, Definitely on my "to do" list. Glad to see you back! Awesome patterns.
  4. An easy to check for the blade square to the table. Take a piece of scrap, I use at least ¾ , cut about a blades width into the wood. Pull it out, move it around to the back of the blade, if it's square the blade will slip right into the cut you made, if not it'll show which way and how much it's off.
  5. Very Nice
  6. I will echo what others have said, that's a very cool idea, and great job!
  7. +1 on leave it like it is
  8. Thank you for that, I was thinking about it last night and wanted to give it a try.
  9. From the picture, this is a really cool piece, you nailed tho colors! But as I look at it I wonder how it would look if you had green LED lights behind it. You'd have to have some space between the panther and the backer but when it lit up I'm thinking it's be pretty cool! That being said, I think I would take out the chin hairs on the lower jaw, make it a clean line on the bottom. The rest of it is mesmerizing. Do you plan to post the pattern? I for one would love to give it a go. Still, for my 2 cents, awesome job! Chris
  10. Thanks to @JTTHECLOCKMAN, the blog answered exactly was I needed. And yes @barb.j.enders, that is quite a blog and rabbit hole (lol)
  11. Ok I'm not real savy with the tech stuff. @OCtoolguyand @don in brooklin on, where would I find Carole's email?
  12. In an effort to expand my scrolling activities I picked up Carole Rothman's book "Scroll Saw Wooden Bowls". The one my wife picked out calls for ⅝ stock. The rings are cut at 23 degrees. Now I'm wondering if I go with ¾ stock would the 23 degree angle cut still apply? If not what would I change to. The reason for ¾ as opposed to ⅝ is a drum sander is still on my wish list and I don't seem to be able to find ⅝ stock. Everything is either ½ or ¾. Chris
  13. @Sycamore67, I totally agree with that statement.
  14. @barb.j.enders, thanks for the idea, I will definitely look into getting some of these!
  15. My Delta P-20 comes pretty darn close, but it's quite a heavy beast. The nickle doesn't even budge when it's running. Like you, I've found the sweet spot and pretty much leave it there.
  16. +1 on that, I'd be interested in it also.
  17. I was glad to see your post. I'm considering the 30" myself, but you know, I never thought of putting it on a service cart, that's a great idea!, As I too have a small shop and it would be wonderful to have the mobility. Is it much heavier than the 24"? I'm assuming the once you get it dialed in vibration isn't an issue. Thanks for sharing. Chris
  18. Very Nice, I really like the subject matter.
  19. Frame only here, tried putting them behind glass when I first started, didn't care for the look, really took away from the wood. Glassless is much better. Chris
  20. Interesting development. My schedule didn't allow me any shop time for 3 days and when I went down today to try to solve the vibration it was all but gone, all the issues I was having. I can only speculate that @kmmcrafts and @TAIrving are on to something that after moving the saw it needed time to "settle " into its new position. Well, I'm just glad it's back to normal. Thanks everyone for the help. Chris
  21. The things you mentioned have been on my mind too, I'll be checking those out Wednesday. Never thought about the rubber grommets, so I'll definitely check those.
  22. The nickle will stay upright but still moves a bit. Cutting is ok, but in my brain I'm trying to get to zero vibration like my P-20. Had it there once, just one of those little things that get under my skin that I want to try to fix. There may be no "fix" to it, but I still like to try.
  23. @Wichman, I have it on a concrete floor, not the most level, but I shim the legs to make it rock steady on the floor. Thanks though, weird part is, it's still in the same spot in the shop, just a different bench, this one is bigger and heavier, still though something changed, the mystery thickens....
  24. Ok, I had my 16" King running quite good, vibration was almost none existent, passed the Nickle test with flying colors. Moved it to another bench, as solid as the previous, and now I can't get it to pass the nickle test even in the lower speeds. So I sat there trying everything I could think of and still theres enough vibration to tick off a person (lol). So I'm trying to understand what adjustments I can make, how they affect the saw, like rotating the motor, what exactly does that adjust? I honestly don't remember. Would upgrading the chuck heads help? maybe bolting it to the bench? The vibration isn't real bad, the nickle will stay on it's edge but has a small amount of movement, not enough to knock it over but movement none the less. Having read thru as many of the posts dealing with vibration I'm at wits end on how to eliminate vibration, my Delta P-20 runs as calm as a still lake at all speeds am I'm expecting the King to do the same, am I barking up a dead tree on that? Anyhow, a litle venting here, thanks for listening (lol) but I'll keep tinkering with it trying to get vibration free.
  25. They look great. Sending positive thoughts your way! Chris
