  1. Can you cut a ceramic tiles with a scroll saw, I think that the FD Polar blades should do it. Any people try it before?
  2. The boxes patterns are from Sheila Landry, the walls of the boxes might be 3 or 4 rings so that's where these come from.
  3. Made lot's of boxes recently and I had all these inserts laying around, I decided to use it for what I call "Redneck Coasters". I have 2 coats of Tung oil for the finish and I glued some cork under in order to protect the furniture. Better than the wood pile. Also I just finish cutting the maple leaf trivet posted on the site, excellent pattern and easy to cut.

  7. I tried to print a pattern from the library and my printer just print like a shadow, tried 2 or 3 times same result. Did I do anything wrong? Patterns that i tried was the Christmas Tivet and Celtic one also.

  10. I have an Excalibur saw so the table do not tilt, the head of the saw move. For inlay I moved the head to the right 2 to 3 degrees depending on thickness of the wood and I cut clockwise. To test just draw a circle on your piece of wood you plan on using and see the fit, the inlay piece should not go through but stay a little bit on top, you can sand it flush. Hope this help.

  14. If your bowl will be used for food, used mineral oil and beeswax, buff between coats(at least3 coats). On the outside of the bowls I used shellac 2 to 4 coats.
  15. I would sand one day and stain the next day after all the dust has settled on the floor, done it myself and it worked for me.

  20. I requested this pattern at least 2 years ago, my neighbor's dog died and I got a picture from their daughter of the dog always laying on her security blanket. I finally got the nerve to cut it this year, will give it to them for Christmas. Now the shop is closed for the holidays. Wish every dust maker a wonderful Christmas to them and family and all the best for the New Year.

  22. Have been making bowls & boxes for Christmas and I had a box full of pieces of scrap so I decided to put it to good use.
  23. In Canada we have a company called general.ca, they will ship to the uk and since the part is not big it should be decent price. I just check their website and the do have a distributor in England
