  1. A few items that I just finished with the cut. The Christmas ornaments are from Sue Mey, I used Padauk, red cherry and walnut a little too hard to cut but I managed. The bowl is from SSWC magazine couple years ago. After the cut you need to sand/shape it a little to look good. The Christmas names patterns are from Steve Good, this is his yearly Christmas ornaments that you order from him. There is no finish apply as of yet, too busy cleaning out the garden for the winter.
  2. I use sanding mops all the time, I have 3 different grits they do a fantastic job of cleaning up the wood piece. I also use the 220 grit between Tiung oil application.
  3. I used FDUR blades for all my trivets, # 3 for 1/4" # 5 for 1/2" and # 7 for 3/4" thickness. No sanding required just a little bit of sanding mop between each coat of finish.
  4. Thank you very much for all the nice comments, but Russell is the one that deserves the most, I just made sawdust. I think I might give them away to some friend for Christmas. My wife will decide how to put them together, I just do the cutting and finishing, tha's enough for this old fart.
  5. Thanks to Russell the designer. The 12 days are cut and the best part I used only 1 blade FD PSR #3 I just cut one at a time on 1/4" stock and I don't remember what type of wood it is because I had these little strip of wood for at least 10 years just waiting to find use for them.
  6. No band saw all with the scrollsaw.
  7. I don't know yet Russell, might give them away since we are away to Arizona for 2 months during the winter this year.
  8. Just finish # 5 and # 6 they are easy to cut and fun also. Thanks Birchbark great patterns.
  9. Thanks for the nice comments. Wood used were most pieces of scrap that I had, paddauk, oak, yellowheart black cherry
  10. Just finished these 3 items, the knitting bowl pattern is from Sue Mey, don't remember who posted the "Canadian" thanksgiving trivet pattern. Sue had to modify her pattern because it was very hard to sand and shape but I managed to get it done. The new pattern is easier to do.
  11. Very nice job and also much need patience to cut all these holes. Excellent job you should be proud.. It is a masterpiece.
  12. Thanks for all the nice comments, I think they will be nice addition for Christmas inventory. Go ahead and cut away they are not hard to do, I reduced the size to 4 1/2" X 2 3/4".
  13. Really like these, they are fun to cut and you can use all kind of scrap piece of wood for them.
  14. Welcome aboard, very nice and intricate cutting, very close to expert category
  15. I cut pretty well the same as Scrappile so far it has worked for me. Mostly the patterns dictate the way to attack the project, I liked to get rid of the hard stuff first and keep the easy for the end.
  16. I found it on Pinterest but no pattern so far, looks like it is from Britain
  17. Very nice might have to try it myself, I think lot's of people will like to have one. Excellent job on the finish also.
  18. Thanks for all the nice words but still not sure if I"ll ever attempt another one, it is very difficult to cut the lord's prayer and not be able to swear when it does not go right. I had to cut one phrase a second time because the last letter that I was cutting broke, had to bite my tongue real hard. LOL
  19. I could eat this big boy, excellent cutting.
  20. Just have to finish the assembly (glue them all together) and apply a coat or 2 of clear finish and I'm done. Will not cut letters for at least another month (hate it) but this is a gift for auction of the Knights of Columbus golf tournament. Also this id my first and only one that I will cut. LOL Pattern by Keith/Sheila Landry
  21. MY daughter bought me a branding iron many years ago so that I could sign my work. "Handmade by................"
  22. Thanks for all the nice compliments but there is lot's of real good Scrollers here.
  23. This is for Yankee candle holder
  24. Pattern from Sheila Landry, lot's of holes.
