  2. And the direction it catches on is the direction the cut happens, correct?
  3. I'm going to start cutting our my first freehand picture jigsaw puzzle. There won't be anything on top of the picture and I know that the blade needs to cut on the down stroke so I don't tear the picture. Does someone have a picture of what the blade should look like for this. This picture is 11x17 and it is on 1/4" BB plywood and I will be using the FD Superior Puzzle Blade. Thank you all in advance. Here is a copy of the picture I will be cutting out. Jim
  4. Good job, I use a UR#3 blade for my puzzles which is cut out on 3/4" Poplar.
  5. Hearing protection - yes dust masks - respirator all the time in the work shop gloves - yes it helps me hold onto the pieces glasses - yes Jim

  7. Thanks for the reply Jay. I was kind of thinking of splitting the logs in half (if they are big enough) and make candle stick holders out of them.
  8. A person here at work who had to have a Elm tree cut down and she was asking me if I could use the logs. I don't have any idea what size the logs are or if they are straight or not. Has any one use elm wood? Thanks Jim
  9. That's what I have been doing Iggy, I cut the outlines first then I do the internal cuts and then the puzzle pieces. Seems to work for me for the moment.

  11. If I'm using my DeWalt I sit down on a stool, if I'm using my Hegner I stand. Right now I enjoy standing more than sitting.

  14. I have 2 saws, one is for a back up in case my main saw breaks down and I'm in the middle of a project I need to get finished.
  15. I cut the outside pieces first, then the inside pieces.
  16. Any chance do you have photoshop Scott? I am able to apply my logo to my race pictures I have in a single folder all at one time.

  21. I finished up my first Long Neck Dinosaur Puzzle. It is made out of 3/4" Poplar and measures roughly 10" tall x 12" long.

  23. I have found that using the rubber mats from Harbor Freight has helped my back a lot. I have also raised my scroll saw with blocks so I can stand and cut. That has also helped me. If my back does start to hurt, I take a couple Aleve to help.
